Do you know about that mansion in Chicago? It's ownership is split between several entities. The guest house is owned by the lady (a professor?) who's living in it. The main house is listed as owned by their lawyer, some sort of trust or something and perhaps a fourth person. The bottom line is, the Obama’s names are not on the deed. They and others may be part of the trust but the house isn't owned by them and them alone. Supposedly, the lawyer paid the taxes but they claimed the property taxes on their income tax. There was an article here on FR a while back about it but you'll have to do the search yourself if you need proof. After all this, I think it's obvious why they have never gone back to that house since he was sworn in.
