How stupid would a politician be to be invited to an event to speak and call them racists? You go, you speak your piece and make your points just like Perry did. That’s how you try to make a REAL difference, not just make debate society points on anonymous websites. Read the text of his speech. It’s damned good.

Oh, and guess what. Getting elected is pretty damned important. Surprisingly, that’s the only place you can get much done in politics.

I guess you didn’t listen to the speech.

Thank you. I hadn't heard that speech in some time. Much worse than I remembered. I was leaning towards Perry but now I realize that would be a mistake. Pandering to an anti-American group like La Razza is just too much for me. And he had his usual difficulty in speaking even at this event, an inability that he demonstrated in every debate. Perry cannot be trusted to lead the Country for the benefit of Americans. Too bad, there are not many choices left.

Since there is no way that Obama will ever debate Newt that means his debate skills advantage is not so important.

And since Perry’s debate expectations are so incredibly low that all he would need to do is show up to break even he gets the debate advantage.

I will support and vote for either Newt or Perry, I will not support MittWitt....not ever.

I hope Perry gets the nomination.

I was very willing to give Perry a shot when he got in the race. But the more he talks the less impressed I am. Conservatives lose on the message front every time. Can you imagine what the MSM will do with Perry if he is president? We need someone who can articulate the conservative message even if they are not perfect conservatives. Even Romney can at least get the fiscal conservative message out there without sounding like a dunce, even if he isn’t actually a fiscal conservative. There is going to come a point soon, if we haven’t hit it already, where elections won’t matter because a majority of the electorate will no longer believe in capitalism.

since when don’t the Republican and Democrat candidates not debate at least 2 to 3 times before a national election?

>>The very fact that he even SPOKE to LaRaza<<

It doesn't bother you that Perry spoke at the National council of the Race?

Could you imagine if there were an organization for whites called “The Race”?

Perry would be skewered.

I guess it is ok if the organization called “THE RACE” (La Raza) is primarily of hispanic origin.

He loves this country and will make conservatives proud.

I agree with you there. I was for Perry before I was against him (I just love writing that), but with Cain gone, I find myself reconsidering Perry. Now, if he just doesn't pull any Bachmann-style stunts to try and jumpstart his support, he might have another chance. Newt will flame out in a blaze of glory; this nomination ain't close to being settled.

If a person can battle back, after being deflated by the media, they get a lot of immunity from further media charges, because the media at that point just looks vindictive.

And as president, you don’t need to make snap decisions.

There is nothing wrong with, after getting advice from your advisers to think for five minutes, ..., ten minutes,..., going for lunch,..., having supper,..., six hours, before making a decision.

Your getting your LaRaza groups mixed up.

The one Perry talked to does not believe in Reconquista.

You are referring to Raza Unida which has nothing to do with NCLR.

Here are some facts and you can research to find out for yourself at the NCLR website: http://www.nclr.org/index.php/about_us/faqs/the_truth_about_nclr/other_issues/

Some critics mistakenly assert that activist Professor Jose Angel Gutierrez was a founder of NCLR.

In fact, while Gutierrez was a key player in a number of Mexican American organizations, including the Mexican American Youth Organization (MAYO), the Brown Berets, and the Raza Unida Political Party, he never had any connection to NCLR.

Indeed Jose Angel Gutierrez himself has articulated a clear distinction between himself and his allies and NCLR, an organization he criticizes as being “cautious and careful.”

http://www.nclr.org/index.php/about_us/faqs/the_truth_about_nclr/reconquista_and_segregation/

misconception about NCLR is the allegation that we support a “Reconquista,” or the right of Mexico to reclaim land in the southwestern United States.

NCLR has not made and does not make any such claim; indeed, such a claim is so far outside of the mainstream of the Latino community that we find it incredible that our critics raise it as an issue.

NCLR has never supported and does not endorse the notion of a “Reconquista” or “Aztlán.” Similarly, NCLR’s critics falsely claim that the statement “Por La Raza todo, Fuera de La Raza nada,” [“For the community everything, outside the community nothing”] is NCLR’s motto.

NCLR unequivocally rejects this statement.

People, please do not be deceived.

Many of the people putting out this deceptive, lying and misinformation are not Republicans.

Don’t fall for it - find out the truth yourself.

Perry is a Conservative Republican.
He is Pro-Life
He is Pro-2nd Amendment

He will secure the border. He is against Anchor Baby Law.
He is against Amnesty.

Please quit believing the lies.

Perry is the most conservative candidate running.
The one with the most experience, the one with less baggage, the one who has a good marriage to one women and the one who is the strongest on illegal immigration.

See my post #57.

(from NCLR)

http://www.nclr.org/index.php/about_us/faqs/the_truth_about_nclr/the_translation_of_our_name/

“Many people incorrectly translate our name, “La Raza,” as “the race.” While it is true that one meaning of “raza” in Spanish is indeed “race,” in Spanish, as in English and any other language, words can and do have multiple meanings. As noted in several online dictionaries, “La Raza” means “the people” or “the community.” Translating our name as “the race” is not only inaccurate, it is factually incorrect. “Hispanic” is an ethnicity, not a race. As anyone who has ever met a Dominican American, Mexican American, or Spanish American can attest, Hispanics can be and are members of any and all races.”
