There are many embedded LINKS in Kevin Hall's post, including this amusing one of Paul's falling brow.

Cain’s remaining supporters were diehards

True. And I doubt we'll all flock to someone else today. Also, his endorsement means nothing to me. I'll make up my own mind and I suspect the rest of his supporters will, too. Much will be made of it, though, I'm sure.

Herman Cain inspired me so much that I gave up a job I love to try to help him get elected.

I didn't stop reading there, but I should have.

Stepping back ... this is an Obama-like situation media-wise. We have an intelligent, black man saying the right things. But the difference is THIS man was vetted by (destroyed by) the press, and the one who is sitting as President still has not been vetted. Our problem is not Herman Cain or B H Obama ... or even the "stupid" people that vote for them. Our problem in this country is the media and the media will bring us down in the end, not Obama or the Democrats. If the media were doing its job ALL the time and not just with "their favorites" not one pretender would "get through" to get our attention. Instead of Occupy Wall Street, we ought to start thinking about Occupy the Media ... New York Times, et al.

The Tea Party should start targeting the media and do it with CLASS showing what real and focused grass-roots power still means in this country. The lawyers can't get the birth certificate or the records, but could a LEGAL crowd outside the NYT's do it? It may be time to go to the streets ... nothing else is stopping these people from making the decisions on who will run the country. I don't think it is the "Republican Establishment" ... they simply USE the news media just like the libs do. The News Media should be the target, period.

Great article, I'm disappointed about Cain as many people are. However, hopefully Cain would recognize, and I'm not so sure he would after watching his implosion, that a Romney endorsement would not only splinter his support amongst other candidates, but would shatter any illusion he had cast that he was a viable anti-Romney candidate.

Meaning, that support would never return to him under any circumstances and he would be even more discredited than he is now, if that is possible.

So now, I'm compelled to cast my support to Newt, for all his failings. I hope he lasts until Iowa... My big concern is who amongst the non-discredited survivors is a worthy backup.

I will say this: We DO have a worthy field of candidates this election. If I can go through two somewhat palatable fallbacks all campaigning as conservatives, I'm way ahead of where I was in 2008.

Oh, and FUMR!!!
