I can easily envision a married man caring for another woman with his substance without telling his spouse. In fact, it would not surprise me if many men do this. It is precisely because he did not want his wife to doubt his loyalty that he quietly helped someone else. If anything I would think it strange for a man who cares for others - especially a man - 1.) to ask his wife's opinion about how or whether he should take care of someone else of the opposite sex, and 2.) to doubt his spouse would back him up if/when such a thing would come to light.

Come to think of it, a couple years ago I gave $20.00 to a young lady with whom I work; a single mother, younger than me, whom I admire, because she needed it for gas. I did not ask my wife's permission, and I have never told her. Were I Herman Cain, the amount may have been greater but the concept is the same.

I'm not going to let the implications of private decisions become fodder for public accusations. That's the business of people who like to fabricate dirt. I will have no part of that. Sorry.

Come on! You gave a single payment of $20, not month to month. Women say that it’s never the physical connection(sex) that gets to them as much as the emotional connection in a affair and I’m not accusing Herman of having an affair (if this was a year I could accept maybe but this was years after years).

So, if your wife found out about it from someone else, how would she take it? Don't you think that maybe she would, like any normal human, be concerned? Perhaps doubt your intentions? Maybe even question your fidelity, even fleetingly? Playing with fire that is, yes, mmmmm.

Exactly.

The Economy is in total disaster around here.

I once paid two months on a ladies power bill to keep her lights from being turned off. I knew the lady she had two young kids why would I not help her I could without it causing me discomfort.

I did not hide if from my wife I just simply never thought to tell her. When wife found out she asked how was lady doing. NOT was I sleeping with her or were those my kids.

Marriage is supposed to be about trust. If you dont trust your spouse or she dont trust you, Get out. Life is to short.
