From Team HC: Please take a moment to write Mr. Cain a note or record a short video sharing why you feel it is important for him to stay in the race and become the next President of the United States of America! We must unite and show Mr. Cain that he is not alone in this fight, but that WE THE PEOPLE stand firmly beside him and behind him! http://www.hermancain.com/encouragement
Apollo5600: I'm starting to get the feeling that Cain's staff are doing their best to keep Cain encouraged. It's quite tragic what is happening to Cain and our political system here. Please everyone, take the time to send Cain a message expressing your support or, at least, encouraging him to stay. The link above is pretty easy to use. You can submit straight to the website. It won't be trolled, since they are moderator reviewed.
I wrote a long one, "Ricardo Galvan" if you happen to see it. Probably hasn't been approved yet.
“At this point a vote for Cain is a vote for Romney”
Not yet. Right now a vote for Cain is a vote for Cain. Cain should not bow out prematurely to due media pressure. Let the electorate have their say in the early primaries and at the appropriate time I’m sure Conservatives will rally around the best viable choice as determined by the electorate and not the media or RINO establishment.
It’s fine that you’re for Cain. Mazel tov. I DO wish you and others would confine your posts to pro-Cain instead of thread hopping to attack other candidates and their supporters. That’s become de rigeur around here and ultimately serves no good purpose.
For a newly minted FReeper, you’ve jumped in with both feet so it might lead one (me) to suspect you’re not so much a ‘noob’ but a longer term FReeper operating under another pseudonym.
jimmyray: Helping some one once or twice, maybe. 13 years,
The quote from the article you linked did not say that Cain has given her money for 13 years. I have not heard or read of him saying that. Do you have an actual quote or video clip of him saying that? Or do you just have poor reading comprehension?
On another note, if you are battling stage 4 cancer, do you have the energy, time or ability to carry on an extramarital affair?
My FRiend it looks like you are trying to talk yourself into accepting an establishment Pub as your candidate. I am not willing to give up on Perry. We haven't started voting yet and the polls do change. Newt is on a nice run, but in 2 months that can all change.
It's the tortoise vs. the hare.
Perry has not stumbled as badly as the media tries to portray it. After Cain, Santorum, Bachmann, Huntsman and maybe Paul drop out lets see where the support goes. I like Perry because I know where he stands and he is consistent. Newt is on a good run right now, but do we know the positions he takes today he will hold tomorrow?
Also, the baggage Newt has to deal with is going to be tough to overcome. I think he plays right into the image that obama wants to create that the Pubs are a bunch of rich, inside dirty dealing, capitalists who don't care about the "working man" (a phrase I particularly hate, I've never seen one of the "working men" in the office on a Sat. night trying to figure out how to solve a problem).
As I've said many times we will see where we are at after SC & FL.
All of that said, my FRiend, if Perry doesn’t pull it out, I would love to have his voice in the US Senate. I’d love to have him get the experience nationally that will make him a near certainty as a presidential candidate in 2020.
Wouldn't that be a better spot for Newt? :-)
As Newt gains even more coverage I see a real possibility he is going to say something that will be easily misrepresented and will discredit him. He thinks big (a really good thing) but he trusts in the intelligence of people to understand what he's saying and why (a really bad thing). Reagan was fantastic on developing support and trust and part of the reason was he kept things simple, even though he was one of the brightest guys around.
Don't get me wrong, if Newt is the nominee I will support him and send in money to help him. It's just that he has weaknesses we don't want to recognize.
He’s going to talk with the whole family in person this weekend. But you said in your post why couldn’t he pick up the phone and call his wife. They’ve been talking daily.
I have conceded that he did not admit to the 13 year allegation, see my post #93. No need to try ad hominim attacks, e.g your last sentence above.
He has confirmed however, that:
1. he texted her
2. he gave her an undisclosed amount of $
3. his wife did not know about the money
4. his wife did not know about the woman
5. He also confirms he has helped other "friends".
Whether it is 3 months, or 13 years, it still smells bad, eh? And really, is he so naive to think that secretly giving money (while he is running for POTUS) to a woman (while he is running for POTUS)... Duh! Not to mention how it would impact his marriage... Not presidential material, IMHO. He has been my choice until Wednesday of this week, BTW!
They’ve had a longer time to do this to Sarah. Cain’s only been subjected to this for a few weeks. If by some miracle he would get the nomination and win, the media will never leave him alone. It’s not so much Herman Cain they expect to fold, it’s his wife and family. If the wife isn’t happy, then you’ve done your job because usually the wife’s will usually wins in the end.
You’re also not a millionaire.
No, those really aren’t the facts, as have been addressed a thousand times at this point, and therefore you have no point.
FYI, this is a thread titled “Encouragement for Herman Cain”. It is a “pro-Cain” thread, at least with my first post.
Well, Cain's black. That's all the reason shimbo needs.
shimbo, don't bother denying it.
Do you always make assertions with no data whatsoever?
Funny, that’s essentially what you’re doing over and over and over again. Get a clue.
1. he texted her
2. he gave her an undisclosed amount of $
3. his wife did not know about the money
4. his wife did not know about the woman
5. He also confirms he has helped other "friends".
Giving money away is great. Helping those in need is honorable. Having friends of the opposite sex is fine.
Repeatedly giving money to support a woman your wife does not know is foolish, and begging for scandal. Doing so while running for POTUS is stupid.
I decided that, personally, I can no longer support him, in spite of defending him previously over the bogus "sexual harassment" nonsense, especially Gloria Alred.
I agree we disagree, but don't be foolish enough to think I make my decision without data. However, when (not if) more revelations come to the fore, I will no longer be surprised. You will be.
You do not know what was in the messages.
You do not know who texted who.
You do not know how much money traded hands, if much at all.
You do not know how many friends he has helped, and how much.
We do know she has been sued for stalking and making
false claims against other people.
You’re “data” is all in your own head.
Good! I like “pro” whichever candidate threads. Personally, I think it’s best to stay with the guy/gal you like and leave the others and their supporters alone. All of us, it’s not just you. No one’s converting anyone with snipes at the other candidates and posters; in more cases than not, they are alienating.
Each and every candidates brings his/her pro’s and con’s to the table, and each voter will have to decide who’s pro’s are preferable from their vantage point. Hopefully, come next September, we will all be on the same page, leading to a November victory for the eventual GOP nominee.
If you want to lecture me about how to have feel good feelings with other people, kum-by-ya and all that, not distracting from threads and such, maybe you could privately message me.
