Its not the only ban either. Its ridiculous. What about the millions of people who will be forced to get a prescription for those asthma inhalers now?

Well, guess what. You are likely to be diagnosed with Seasonal Affectation Disorder (millions of Americans are afflicted by it, particularly in the short-day states) aka SAD, and your physician can prescribe incandescent lights to keep your spirits up.

You have no shortage of incandescent bulbs in your future.

I need to stock up on, uh, tree bulbs during the holidays. Yeah, tree bulbs. That’s it. Those big bright white ones.

When your great great grandfather died, did he have a closet full of buggy whips?

So, will there be light bulb subsidies for the poor who cannot afford to replace the inexpensive bulb in the socket with a $7.00 green squirrelly tube?

The Euro-peons banned incandescent bulbs some time ago and the USA just followed right along. Thanks, Pres. Bush.

The Euro-peon-ization of America rages on!

If any Freepers are in need of light bulbs, I’ll be happy to ship them some from Japan.

Liberals want teenagers to have the freedom to kill an unborn child 10 minutes before birth...

and for adults to be able to marry their dogs if 'it feels good'...

But the freedom to pick our own light bulbs? Or to chose the type of toilet we want? Or detergent for our dishwashers? That they won't allow...

something's amiss here...

Installed a few of the new curly bulbs in my Mom’s basement. When you turn them on they emit very little light for about the first minute making the basement look very grim. I’d call them “soviet style” lighting.

Don't forget the 150 Watt bulbs. I have a good supply of both 100 Watt and 150 Watt. Not a curly bulb in the house!

The leftist aka progressive treehuggers for over 5 decades have been trying to ban the use of mercury. And now they jump on the mercury bandwagon. Just read the writing on the side of these bulbs packages. They cannot be thrown away. If you break one. Have fun cleaning it up. These leftist aka progressive treehuggers are killing the planet one moronic fix at a time.

Does anyone know if this ban includes the weather proof outdoor flood lights?
I once tried a florescent flood on our motion detector that lights up our driveway and it proved to be useless.

On January 1, 2012 Americans will no longer be able to buy 100-watt Edison light bulbs. Please sign our SAVE the Edison Light Bulb petition today!

http://www.eagleforum.org/petitions/save-the-edison-light-bulb.html

Unless Congress takes action to repeal the so-called “efficiency standards” enacted under a liberal Congress, it will be illegal to sell the 100-watt incandescent light bulb. Help us save the Edison light bulb by signing the petition on this page
