Speaking of Marcus Luttrell, Gov. Perry has been there for him whenever needed. After his therapy dog was murdered, Luttrell chased the perps down and held them at bay until police arrived to arrest them. Marcus ended up going to the Perry’s in need of support and comfort after his loss. The Perry’s offered Marcus an invitation to stay at their place as long as he needed to. Marcus has been an adopted family member ever since getting back from his traumatic ordeal in Afghanistan where he was the lone survivor of Seal Team 10.

Look. I know what the polls are showing right now, and Rick Perry’s numbers aren’t where he’d like them to be. But, the truth is, none of the current polls have any significance whatsoever regarding the results of the upcoming caucuses and primaries. As someone who’s observed politics throughout my entire adult life, I know that the last two weeks heading into any election are extremely fluid. All the polls up to that point are nothing more than hype used by campaigns and news outlets to maintain the interest of political junkies.

Part of the reason Rick Perry isn’t leading the field right now is because people just don’t know enough about him. He’s got a compelling story to tell, and a lot of people around him who serve as living testaments to his character — Marcus Luttrell being one of them. The link above to the RedState piece is an excellent way to introduce people to Rick Perry the man and provides important insights into his character that just can’t be conveyed on a debate stage or energy policy discussion.

Again, forward that link to everyone you know who has an interest in the Republican primaries. Let your friends and family know they have a candidate asking for their votes who lives the ideals he promotes on the stump in his private life. Let them know that they don’t have to settle for good enough, and share Marcus Luttrell’s testimony to the man’s personal greatness.

This is just how Rick Perry is. After Hurricane Ike devastated my community, he came here to survey the damage. He did not just walk through here surrounded by security and news cameras and then make a speech. That's not Perry. He showed up in jeans and a work shirt, no cameras, no press conference, and he walked among all of us who had been hit. A hug, a pat on the shoulder, a listening ear, and an encouraging word. He saw to it that emergency shelters were being set up and food and water were available to everyone. When Obama/FEMA refused to help us, Governor Perry set up state funding to help us rebuild our homes and our lives. My home is at 'ground zero' where Ike came ashore. We all took tremendous damage. FEMA sent me a check two months later for $600 dollars. Governor Perry set up the Recovery Fund to help us all rebuild. That is what a true leader and a true Christian does. That's my Governor! I can't wait to see America under the caring wing of Rick Perry.

...that he tried to create a super highway from Mexico into the heartland of the US, taking lands from all kinds of Americans and giving leases to a Spanish company, all in support of moving American manufacturing to Mexico.

...that he supports anmesty.

...that he continues to allow American students in Texas schools to be forced to sing the Mexican national anthem and say the Mexican pledge of allegiance.

...that he tried to force American girls to take an innoculation that even doctors were hesitant to recommend all because the drug manufacturer Merck was giving him campaign donations.

...that he did all this even when Texans were screamign for him to stop and the Texas legislature had to make laws to force him to stop.

..that Perry was a lifelong Democrat until he was about 40 years old and was even Al Gore’s campaign chairman when Albore ran for president.

I could go one, but who the Hell would want such a Democrat as President?
