Many people forget that Michele Bachman had a first surge that briefly made her the GOP Presidential Primary frontrunner.
But that may have been because many Bible believing Christians loved her values and spunk but quickly had 'buyers remorse' as second thoughts kicked in, wondering if it biblically correct to have a woman president.
So, the question is: Is there a biblical precedent for a woman President?
Yes. In a word: Deborah.
The book of Judges, chapter 5, explains an eerily similar pattern to today's political and economic state of America. Ancient Israel had fallen on tough times. They had rejected Yahweh God and embraced the ways of the heathens. They were surrounded by their enemies, and their men didn't have the moral fortitude to do what was necessary to survive. Enter Deborah, a prophetess, a righteous judge and a 'Mother in Israel' (read: Congresswoman Bachmann today).
A man named Barak (really; not making this stuff up) was supposed to lead the Israel to fight evil Jabin's army commander Sisera but he wimped, saying he refused to go alone. So Deborah had to step up to the plate and drove a nail through the temple of General Sisera and Israel then had peace for 40 years.
So how does this apply today for Christians who believe it is better for a conservative man to lead our nation?
Simple. A long line of conservative men had their shot and fizzled. Rick Perry and Herman Cain surged and fizzled. Ron Paul is a great man but of another 'denomination' (Libertarian). So is Mitt, except doubly (a Mormon and a liberal). Newt is a serial adulterer and an consummate insider. Tough to tell know which is worse for political evangelicals. Huntsman is Bob Dole once removed.
That leaves Rick Santorum and Michele Bachmann...

Funny.
I didn’t like that quote either. Probably the lowest point for Bachmann. But if that is her lowest, she’s still high on my list.
I do, too. Herman Cain has plenty of executive experience as a business executive. But he seemed to inexplicably melt down due to no major speed bumps. Allegations against him were mild compared to the direct admissions by Monica and Bill. I’m fine with Cain or Bachmann, or both on the same ticket. I was temporarily enthralled by Newt and still want to believe he’s a changed man. He certainly has the brains and exec experience but I can only hope he puts morality at the top of his list and doesn’t cave.
My apologies. I nearly didn’t post this for similar concerns. Perhaps I shouldn’t have posted it.
But I have thought about the story of Deborah being sent to do a man’s job on many occasions—long before the male conservatives started melting down— and now I actually can see how this may very well be.
Time will tell. Let’s see if Michele surges this week or not.
I have gone to multiple churches that say a woman is not designed to be a a President. I’d venture to say there are still millions of voters who would hesitate to punch a card for a female President. You know; submission; supporting your husband as a good First Lady but not as President, etc.
Not going to happen? In the natural you are correct. She has melted down to near zero. But if the men don’t put God first, and if they compromise morally, I would not be shocked if God put a woman in this Office. He still puts Presidents in office to either reward or punish a people. Clearly Obama has been put there to punish us. Certainly Michele would be a reward in comparison.
a Palin-Bachmann ticket, or a Bachmann-Palin ticket would be really coooooooooooool.
The only part of that ticket that is intellectually, and experiencially qualified to be president is Palin, and she has backed out.

It could happen...
For the balance of the day, I will reply to a thread on another thread. This should be interesting.
No. The setup screen is in the router itself. Just log in and you should see setup somewhere. About midway through, the RADIO ON / RADIO off button is in there. You will probably find that the radio is off.
She’s not gonna Bette nominee, not this time around, let’s check-in with each other in five months and see...
Dang apple auto correct. Should have read “be the nominee”
The submission thing refers to family relationships, and involves two people offering themselves in a totally committed relationship. The husband is to love his wife as Christ loved the church, and we all know that love cost Christ let him to the cross. The woman is in turn to offer proper respect to her HUSBAND. In churches where women are not to be pastors or priests, that is because the pastor or priest is a picture of our High Priest Jesus, who happens to be a male.
None of that means that a woman should not assume a leadership position over other men in the secular arena. If the Lord gave her the gift of leadership, He did so for her to use it.
Amen!
Numbers represent things in the Bible. There are those who study what numbers mean in the Bible and some think that the number 9 does have a relationship to the number 6. I do not necessarily subscribe to the idea that the number 9 has a relationship to the number 6, although I do understand that some numbers do have symbolic meaning and often show up in the Bible as both real and symbolic at the same time. Maybe Michele has some understanding of the topic of numbers and their significance in the Bible and honestly thought the possible correlation between the number 666 and 999 may have a significance. She certainly would have been wiser to keep it to herself since she probably does not know for certain that there is any significance at all to any meaning between the two numbers, 666 and 999, in this case and that even if there might be that America would certainly not understand where she was coming from.
Deborah was a prophetess of Israel who the people came to know as a Judge. She called Barak to her to let him know that he was abdicating his duty before The LORD and that she knew that The LORD had called him to a battle that he would win against Sisera the captain of the enemies army. Sisera refused to go into the battle unless Deborah went with him, which she did.
During the battle Sisera got away from him and ended up at Jael's tent. She lured him into her tent (he thought she was an ally) giving him milk and rest. While he rested she snuck up him and drove a nail through his temple. Jael was one of those wise women of the Bible who knew to throw her lot in with The Living God. She became a heroine of Israel and deserves to be recognized as such.
Having two women who stood up, because the man was not performing his duty as The LORD called him to, might amen the article more than one faithful and courageous woman does. Because Barak would not do his duty before The LORD as a man, he did not "man up", The LORD would not allow him to have the glory of killing the enemy but let it go to a woman, Jael. Two woman were called to fill the place men should have filled, Deborah a judge and prophetess, was needed to go with Sisera, essentially holding his hand, in order for him to go into battle and Jael killed the captain of the opposing force. It it interesting that we have two Conservative women stepping up the political plate today.
Sisera refused to go into the battle unless Deborah went with him, which she did.
Sisera should be Barak.
oooooops. Thanks for the correction. How do I edit a post?
I just looked up the story of Deborah in the bible and had some corrections made to the WebToday story. Here’s the revised version:
