This is just how Rick Perry is. After Hurricane Ike devastated my community, he came here to survey the damage. He did not just walk through here surrounded by security and news cameras and then make a speech. That's not Perry. He showed up in jeans and a work shirt, no cameras, no press conference, and he walked among all of us who had been hit. A hug, a pat on the shoulder, a listening ear, and an encouraging word. He saw to it that emergency shelters were being set up and food and water were available to everyone. When Obama/FEMA refused to help us, Governor Perry set up state funding to help us rebuild our homes and our lives. My home is at 'ground zero' where Ike came ashore. We all took tremendous damage. FEMA sent me a check two months later for $600 dollars. Governor Perry set up the Recovery Fund to help us all rebuild. That is what a true leader and a true Christian does. That's my Governor! I can't wait to see America under the caring wing of Rick Perry.
Thanks smoothsailing, I missed it tonight
It’s well worth watching, I saw it live and just finished watching it again! :)
Rick’s up to speed now, he’s ready to rock and roll!
Definitely a strong performance. Hopefully he’ll do as well in tomorrow night’s debate.
I see the Perry haters are already bombing the keywords.
It’s a shame they can’t seem to get a life.
You’re right...he did great. Every time I see him in a ‘non-debate’ situation he’s great!
Perry “done good”. Looking forward to tomorrow night’s debate.
They’re a weird bunch, no doubt about it.
He backs another candidate but he really loved this idea. He said "If people really want to change Washington this is it more than any other idea out there"
He didn't say he was switching but he was very open to the idea.
2 weeks ago this same brother of mine sent me a text after the debate "I hear Perry won...a trip back to Austin" now 2 weeks later he's looking at the proposals more carefully and is seriously warming to Perry. We'll see.
I loved the “ Yeah, we’ll have restricted airspace over Iran!’..same thing we did in Lybia to support the , in this case, the Iranian protestors ..unlike Obama ignoring them!
He was sharp and definitely on his game. I want to see alot more of this Rick Perry!
We don't need to get in another war which gives the country to the Muslim Brotherhood or any other fundamentalist Islamist group than they already have.
Egypt is still in turmoil, Tunisia is becoming more and more fundamentalist. The Ivory Coast Muslims have been killing off Christians. Who knows what will happen in Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan, when we leave. We don't need to get involved with another uprising in a Moslem country. The people don't want democracy. They want Sharia Law and all the brutality that comes with it.
Perry has mastered common sense, and if he would add, just ever so often, an “ing” to a word here and there, as in
“working again”, he will find that northern states share interest in common sense approaches also, if not in the Texas slang thang. Overall, there were no bloopers in sight. I have wondered if the blue bloods miss out entirely on what he is saying sometimes, because they are taken with, or distracted by, listening for the workin’, doin’, guaranteeing, and back again. Everything else spoken is flawless.
He told Krauthammer that he would enforce a no-fly zone over Syria, but I got the impression he was talking about it in the context of Iran’s 2009 Green Revolution. I didn’t hear him say he wanted to go to war with Syria.
Shouldn't that be the Texas slang twang thang? :)
that’s what I got.
Its rather what I want to hear than all the intellectual stuff or the empty cliches.
” Texas slang twang thang..”
Much better the way you clarify thangs that are twang and slang! I guar-RON-tee ya’! :D
