When that old thread happened, I did a search on several sites and couldn't confirm Liddy’s birthday to more than one site that I remember.
But I do know Larry Bailey and asked him last night. he has the master list of all SEALS they use to bust posers and proved to me that El Sordo was right back then and I never followed through in asking Larry as I should have I suppose, but, if El Sordo was any more polite, I guess I would have back then. I only checked last night to shut him up but found out I was wrong!
I am just embarrassed that my funny story I have been telling for 30 years was based on someone pulling my leg and wasn't true at all!! LOL!
Oh, and since you were kind, I'll tell you the answer to his implied interrogation question:
The reason I removed names from the second version is that:
The whole reason I wrote all of this down was I was taking a literature class. I recounted to my instructor all the people I believed I had met in the Marine Corps. She told me I should write it all down for posterity and she would grade it.
So, that is why i wrote it out in the first place. Then, she told me that if I sweeten it up a little, she would PUBLISH it in a book of papers that has papers written by college students, but, to do so,I needed to remove all names so it could be called ‘fiction’ and the actual persons would not be named for legal purposes.
So, in the second release I did I had all the names removed. That is why the very first release it has Liddy’s name in it and the second one has a detailed description that history buffs would know was Liddy
and the new one, which I did release somewhere last night, has the Liddy encounter removed! It sort of takes away from the essay to mention, “Hey, here is my account of meeting a liar who made a fool out of me for 30 years!”
I don't know whether to buy that guy a chocolate milk or give him a black eye!
They’ve gotten their marching orders from CPUSA leaders...you know, get in your neighbors faces.
DEFINITELY a retread.
