Heres what we learned from Herman Cains appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night: sexual harassment allegations can be funny and the elusive Mrs. Cain is, in fact, a Democrat.
My wife is a Democrat, but that doesnt mean thats how she votes all the time, Cain told Kimmel.
Not much is known about Gloria Cain, the Republican presidential frontrunners wife of 43 years. We were supposed to meet her recently, but the Cain campaign abruptly canceled a planned appearance on Fox News. Last week, the Atlanta Journal Constitution profiled Gloria Cain and discovered that not only is she a Democrat, but that she has voted in Democratic primaries and runoffs numerous times since 2000 including the 2008 presidential primary that Barack Obama won with 66 percent of the vote, according to local voting records.

My favorite posts are the “I’ve been supporting (insert whoever is on top tier) but...”. Tell me, aside from being an incredibly catty remark, what transgressions would she have been hurt by? They have a 43 year marriage, you don’t think they’ve both hurt each other over the years? Marriages in which one or more partners hold a grudge don’t last. Mrs Cain has been and excellent example of a Christian wife. She’s not an “in front of the camera” woman but they obviously have something special. Look at the pictures of the two of them. It’s obvious they’re still very much in love. Whether he wins or not, I look at them and see the same kind of love Ronnie & Nancy had.
But tell me, other than Hillary (and that’s not a marriage, it’s a political alliance) just WHAT political wife do you know who held a grudge because of some transgression that impacted a political situation causing him to compromise on some legislation, change a position, etc.? It’s actually rather demeaning. Your implication is that women don’t have the character (or strength or whatever) to overcome a serious problem, seek some kind of revenge (through influence) and that a man then won’t have the backbone to do his job effectively because wifey is at home saying “screw the country do it my way”?

Creating a New Civilization: The Politics of the Third Wave
"In 1994, Newt Gingrich described himself as a fan of the ideas espoused in the book, The Third Wave by Alvin Toffler, in which homosexuality, promiscuity, adultery, divorce, and abortion are all viewed as perfectly normal and even desirable. He said that in order to understand him, you should read the book, The Third Wave by Toffler. This book is written from the perspective of someone who is writing a letter to Americas Founding Fathers, in which he describes the Constitution and the principles of limited government that guided our Founding Fathers as becoming increasing irrelevant, and obsolete, and hence in need of being radically redesigned and replaced!....When Newt Gingrich became the Speaker of the House in 1994, he recommended The Third Wave as required reading for all of his Congressional colleagues!"
??????????
I see don’t worry about the facts in both Newt’s and Perry’s back ground just pimp the guilt by association smears at Cain.
I can't imagine how that situation ever arises, myself. Especially in regard to moral views. I can see physical attraction, but beyond that?
So? Want to play hun? Apparently so is Newt at heart.
The Newt who this spring said he thought the Obamacare individual mandate was a good idea?
Really want to play this game?
Newt has a whole lot more to lose here

Gingrich Backs Obamacares Individual Mandate Requiring Health Insurance
Interesting.
Sorry, these “social justice” churches, as well as those who attend them for years, send up a big red flag to me. Especially Mrs. Cain has voted dem for years. As to the other question of spousal influence, haven’t there been cases of that affecting presidents and their policies to some extent in the past?
“Yawn. This is the best they got to bash Cain?”
For me, it’s more powerful than any of the alleged scandals, etc. The ability to practice good discernment is a huge in a candidate. Being married to a democrat? Not good.

Thanks. It really aggravates me when posters demand proof or documentation and when you give it to them they ignore it.
This is going to seem harsh, but he just lost my vote. Biggest tip-off of a “professionally conservative only” politician: liberal or Democrat wife. Elizabeth Dole. Laura Bush. Barbara Bush. Lindsey Graham. (What? Lindsey isn’t McCain’s wife?)
WRONG!!!!
John Heinz was a Republican in name only, far more liberal than the types we bash as being RINOs today. Heinz-Kerry was always as red as catsup.
You tried to be objective on a Herman Cain thread and were called a liar? I feel your pain. Did you know can even be called a liar for asking a question?
You tried to be objective on a Herman Cain thread and were called a liar? I feel your pain. There’s an even more exclusive club where you can be called a liar for asking a question. That one has me puzzled on metaphysical grounds.
Here’s Some Cain History: They were BOTH democrats until 1996 when Cain changed.
Actually, Newt is for amnesty in fact in his June debate he actually used the word heartless against those that'd like to deport the 20 million illegals.
"GINGRICH: No, but let me say this, John. No serious citizen who's concerned about solving this problem should get trapped into a yes/no answer in which you're either for totally selling out protecting America or you're for totally kicking out 20 million people in a heartless way. There are -- there are humane, practical steps to solve this problem, if we can get the politicians and the news media to just deal with it honestly." June 2011 Transcript
Well I guess I’ll just have to take his word for it.
Huh. My husband and I have very different political views.
He sees the government as the one to help the poor, I see that is the church’s responsibility.
He sees the governments responsibility to defend the shores but doesn’t think that extends to over seas, I see that the government should go where necessary to defend the interest of the US.
He views a more centralized system, I view government a local system.
I can honestly say I do not know a single couple that has the same views politically. They might be similar but not the same.
I am friends and/or colleagues with a lot of socially conservative Southern black women who vote democrat. They are salt of the earth, and so I am not turned off by his wife being such a woman.
