Not Fair or Balanced: Britt Hume says Cain is all but done as serious candidate
Fox & CNN | November 7, 2011

Posted on 11/07/2011 8:07:27 PM PST by Luther1917

Was watching Greta Susteran a few minutes ago and Britt Hume basically said to stick a fork in Cain, he's done. He also said Cain will get no higher in the polls and this latest allegation has killed his candidacy. The old RINO prognostitor in all his glory. RINO Rove came on Hannity a few minutes later and said basically the same thing. Cain is done. BLAH, BLAH,BLAH.

It's amazing how establishment Fox never has a disparaging this to say about Romney, but jumps all over this bogus story from this blonde bimbo today as showing Cain is done.

RINO Ari Fletcher said the same thing on CNN. But he went on to say he never thought Cain had a chance to start with. His talking partner was the martian James Carville, who said Cain never had a chance and was never a serious candidate to start with. Carville also flatout said the Perry camp is responsible for starting the story.

So there it is. It does not matter that Cain has doubled up on Romney in Iowa, leading him by 15% pts. For all Fox cares, Romney is the man, and will be even if he's polling 10% to Cain's 30.

This is a Liberal Democrat Talking Head. Vicious, horrific, terrifying, and cruel, but not insurmountable.

the key to the DC status quo is a ‘Bammy re-election. The only way that happens is with a Romney Candidacy. Any body else unifies the GOP to an un-defeatable block

What I find hysterical is all the people whose heads are in the sand about Cain. Saying he is finished is not admitting he's guilty as charged, it is recognizing the media has destroyed him just as it did Sarah Palin.

The truth is you have to have the media covering for you (as in Clinton) or you have to be very talented in mitigating the damage the media can do to you. Unfortunately, that is not Cain.

Think about it, the media has made the OWS crowd sound somewhat noble and principled in their protest, when in reality, they are not.

I think it is hysterical the hatred spewed by you people when you disagree with the analysis or the opinion of someone - someone on your side at that...especially when you know they are correct.

So now that that is settled, who is going to replace Cain as the Not Romney? We are running out of candidates.

I agree. I think we need to allow them to grieve, but they grieve with much anger and venom when anyone has a different thought about anything.

Cain, ultimately was not going to go anywhere, with or without Bimbos, for many reasons.

I never thought I would be supporting Newt, but he is the only one left...I don't see Perry turning it around, but you never know. So having said that, Newt knows how to govern and he has some sharp comments. I liked the comment he made this weekend in which he said that he would challenge Obama to a series of Lincoln-Douglas style debates, but he would let Obama use his teleprompter if he wanted to.

Sarah Palin herself said she didn't know whether she was going to run or not until her final decision which makes you a lucky guesser or her a liar--no debate there obviously.
Christine O’Donnel was stabbed in the back by a petulant RINO elite establishment—led by Rove and Krauthammer—who were disappointed she defeated their liberal primary candidate—a RINO elite by the way,who share your opinions.

But I do agree with you about the resurgent Newt Gingrich but am not yet ready to throw a good Christian conservative like Herman Cain under the bus—even if Cain haters on the Left and the “Right” drool at the prospect.

“Cain will not be the nominee because the majority of Republican primary voters won’t want to commit electoral suicide and nominate a guy who has absolutely no chance to win a general election”

Statistics were shown after the 2008 elections that if McCain had gotten as many conservative republican votes as Bush did in 2004 he would have beaten Obama.

Well, let me say this. If Herman Cain, a real conservative, is the nominee, he will energize the conservatives in this country and they will come out in droves to vote for him and drive Obama out of office. Romney absolutely can’t energize enough conservatives for him to beat Obama. Cain would also cut into the black vote. There are many black conservatives in America, but most keep their mouth shut for fear of being ridiculed.

If Cain wins the GOP nomination he will be the next president of the United States. In the day and age of the Tea Party, Romney will not be the next president.

Interestingly, despite (or perhaps due to) this whole fiasco going in full swing, Cain has managed to raise $742,000 of his desired $999,000 towards the Iowa fund goal. And he has two full days to go. I made my contribution. I hope he reaches the mark -- "success is the revenge". He's made a lot of progress toward it, thanks in part to a lot of people like we FReepers. If you haven't yet, I encourage you all to consider a small donation. (No I'm not affiliated with the campaign in any form -- I'm just a Tea Partying admirer of Cain's.)

What I find hysterical is all the people whose heads are in the sand about Cain

Its kneejerk fandom. I saw it with Palin (and I am still a big fan of hers), and with Bush to a certain extent. The more "they" try to tear them down, the more these people cling to them. It is NO way of running a campaign.

I think Brit is merely saying that, overall, the guy has no chance of winning the general election, and thus it is highly unlikely he will win the Republican nomination. Could Brit be wrong? Sure, I mean, Christine got the nomination too. Some people here are just too sensitive, and allow that to cloud their judgement.

they know a political novice with an inept campaign team would have absolutely no chance of defeating Obama.

It was actually more a reference to the Saudi Royal family being big shareholders of Fox News.

Cain is one of those folks who will not play the stupid little games the rest of the establishment will play by kissing their rings.

Besides, Cain will end their reign by initiating drilling wherever we can, bring down the price of oil and leave that part of the world to them.

Yes, I agree and I am also a huge fan of Palin for all kinds of reasons, but I hope a rational one. I do understand the reaction - it is very personal and difficult seeing someone you support get ripped to shreds by the media.

Brit was not personally damning Cain, he was just recognizing the reality of the situation, fair or unfair.

The other person that comes to mind is Alan Keyes. People here went off the deep end when reality intruded. It took a number of deeply embarrassing campaigns for people here to acknowledge that Keyes was poison when it came to electoral politics.
