A hit piece from the liberal “business insider”. I’m not saying that the allegation is impossible, but the Koch brothers are attacked all the time by the left.
Really then why did they pay a fine from the U.S Government.
BI? There are a lot more sources then BI..You do know that Americans for Prosperity is one of their groups (ie: Soros and his numerous front orgs)
Billionaires in a battle for control. Yuk.
Ok, post a link about the fine.
We can’t post bloomberg.
but they are all there.
corpus wrongful death suit.
everything.
The Kochs have a fact sheet or something. They have their panties in a wad over this report. but no one is retracting.
From what I can tell at the Koch site they have an op just to keep bad publicity out of the public light.
Must be why they $2 million, iirc, to buy that award they got from caroline Kennedy Schlossburg and a Trump.
You do know they are libertarians right.
From the conclusion:For six decades around the world, Koch Industries has blazed a path to riches -- in part, by making illicit payments to win contracts, trading with a terrorist state, fixing prices, neglecting safety and ignoring environmental regulations. At the same time, Charles and David Koch have promoted a form of government that interferes less with company actions.
For six decades they have had some faults, the first two were rectified. The middle is minor, the latter two should be viewed in the context of a large business operating for decades which will make some mistakes. One tragic, but very few relatively speaking. Any similar large company could have a rap sheet compiled against it if these reporters so desired.
I appreciate your response, but it’s actually a moot point now. Obama, U.N etc. Are working on Sanctions that will apply to the Koch European companies also. Think that’s political? ummmm yeah.
BUT. I don’t think the deaths of two teenagers in Corpus should be dismissed so cavalierly.
“environmental failures are rather old and represented a tiny fraction of their business.”
I’m sure the parents haven’t forgotten.
Sorry, I wasn’t clear. The environmental failures referred to wastewater and other discharge measurements. There were many thousands of such measurements over the years and some percentage will exceed regulations. The important thing is how it compares to similar companies and no such information is given in the article. As to the deaths of the teenagers, that was tragic as I said. I don’t think it is necessarily related to the other failures, there is not enough information to make that judgement. The jury verdict on the deaths is enough information, although the article doesn’t mention that Koch was granted an appeal and then settled, probably for about 1/3 of the verdict as the family had originally asked for 100 million,
