BUT. I don’t think the deaths of two teenagers in Corpus should be dismissed so cavalierly.

Sorry, I wasn’t clear. The environmental failures referred to wastewater and other discharge measurements. There were many thousands of such measurements over the years and some percentage will exceed regulations. The important thing is how it compares to similar companies and no such information is given in the article. As to the deaths of the teenagers, that was tragic as I said. I don’t think it is necessarily related to the other failures, there is not enough information to make that judgement. The jury verdict on the deaths is enough information, although the article doesn’t mention that Koch was granted an appeal and then settled, probably for about 1/3 of the verdict as the family had originally asked for 100 million,
