Any ticket with Cain is a LOSER! Get real! They’re all clowns!

I am getting to feel one of the only grown ups in this race is Gingrich.

I don't agree with him on all issues but he knows how to respond to media attacks.

I have a problem with entrusting the presidency to someone who severed from wife #1 while she had cancer; and carried on side relationships while married to wife #2..during the time he was pressing Clinton for the Lewinsky affair. The imagery of his sitting on a sofa with Pelosi while shilling for an Al Gore-backed anti- “global warming” organization didn`t help. I could see him as NSA or SecState, but not President.

FReepers` support for Cain is based on very little?”

Like that of Obama?

Pray tell, what again was Obama`s CEO experience? How many balance sheets, payrolls, business decisions did Obama make prior to 2008? How much corporate troubleshooting had he accomplished?

Please inform us, because obviously missed that part.

Gingrich would be an amazing press secretary. Although, if Perry and Cain collapse, I’ll go with Gingrich at the too of the ticket.

I’m shocked too. I understand they want to beat Romney but I don’t think Cain is the answer. Everyone likes to criticize the way Perry speaks. Have you ever really listened to Cain?

Cain “worshippers?”

How about “backers of the candidate seen as the most acceptable amid a horrendously bad GOP field?”

As for worshippers, try getting into a discussion about Sarah Palin`s qualifications with a Palinista here in FReeperland. That`ll clue you in as to what a “worshipper” is.

I cannot imagine Palin taking the bottom of any ticket.

It seems to me that the Palin "worshipers" just transferred the "worship" from Palin to Cain...same thought process, just a different name and face.

IMO, Cain is the PERFECT candidate for people who project, just as Obama was. Cain has no voting record so people can make him whatever they want him to be...and are doing just that!

It's amusing how they are able to rationalize away Cain's faults and everything is somebody else's fault...usually Rick Perry's.

Cain is a likable guy but he isn’t qualified to be the president. Gingrich is.

Rather than a Cain presidency with Gingrich being Secretary of State, I’d rather see a Gingrich presidency with Cain as Secretary of Commerce.

It isn’t enough to have a vision. You have to be able to execute. And the ability to execute comes from previous experience and having an innate understanding of how to get things accomplished. Gingrich has that knowledge and has proven he can get the job done - even in a divided house. Cain is a fish out of water, sorry, but true.

I love Hermain Cain and in better times might consider him as POTUS. But now? With the country in the mess it’s in??? Gingrich can walk into the oval office TODAY and knows exactly what to do to begin turning things around. We don’t have time for a newb that requires on the job training and who has to be told everything about anything.

Dittos for Perry.

It’s about time more Freepers began to understand this. It has less to do with how conservative you are and a hell of a lot more to do with knowing how to advance the ball. The fact that Gingrich may not be the most-conservative candidate is, imho, a stupid way to look at this. And if this feeling of only accepting the most conservative candidate persists you WILL get Romney and Romney will lose to Obama.

Wake up Freepers! As Gingrich points out... this time around it is, truly, Victory or Death!

I don’t want to wake up 11/4/12 and find that Obama won another 4 years because Gingrich wasn’t conservative enough or too many people felt he had too much baggage. Newt’s a big boy. He’s already got a strategy for handling that. In a contest where the Dems and the MSM go after Newt’s “history” in an effort to deflect away from their own failures, and with Newt staying on topic and sharing his vision for how to turn this mess around, Newt wins.

He also wins in any debates with Obama and will make Barry look small, very small. I want to see Obama shamed in front of a national audience. Newt will do it and Obama deserves that kind of humiliation.

Does anyone believe Romney, Cain or Perry could do that?

I'm not speaking for anyone else here. I have never "worshipped" a candidate... I'm fully aware of Cain's shortcomings. But IMO, he's all that's left, with Bachmann's star fizzled, Santorum's never lit, Paul a certifiable nutcase, Gingrich carrying baggage the libs haven't even begun to exploit, Romney flip-flopping at every given moment and Perry's weak immigration stances.

This is the weakest GOP field I've seen... something really unfortunate, because Obama could be beaten next year.

Thank you for that info! I've always said I thought Newt's first wife, his teacher, would have gone to jail today for statutory rape.

I'm glad she is alive...and he didn't divorce her on her death bed!

Here is Cain on Affirmative Action

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mR2Xr7DPGv4

“College acceptance should be based on how well a student has performed and excelled in school. Like everything else in life, people need to earn what they get, and earn it by working hard. Quotas are not the answer and they never will be.
The reality today is that more black kids are attending college than ever before. And they are getting to college the old-fashioned way, by earning it. There are more minority doctors, lawyers and other professionals than ever before. We need to continue this trend, by not focusing on race but focusing on encouraging our kids to work harder to succeed.”

Go on find out how he answered these questions on abortion, homosexual “marriage,” and the Palestinian-Israel issue .

You should be prepared to answer these type of questions if your running for President. Cain was not therefore not serious.

You need to get the facts straight about Newt. I did my own research and got to the bottom of what happened with his wives....others need to do likewise. Further they need to see how Newt looks at this now.

He no longer supports at all global warming and many others also changed their outlook since the bogus science was discovered.

Hear it from Newt instead of how the press frames it. And by the way Newt did not leave his wife during her illness...and she asked for the divorce.

Agree fully....it's not about Gingrich's past ....it's about what condition the country is in now...what it will be in the few months Obama can still tear it down further...and who has the package they can bring to the table in which to turn this ship when his feet hit Washington....and maneuver the halls that are there.

No other candidate has the equipment necessary to do that...even if it's just four years...and I considered that as well...this country needs Newt's experience and his spine to accomplish what needs to get done effectively...and not just "try". There is no time for Try.

He said the first thing he will do is get rid of the Czars...good move too...and the rest of his plan I am supportive of he will do when he hits the ground. No other can do that.

Am I thrilled about Newt...not exactly.. but he is the tool this country needs to even if he makes some blunders along the way there is no question he wants our country back on track and knows how to do that.
