Based on a suggestion from a local blogger to look into political donors on the Board of Directors of the National Restaurant Association for potential ties to presidential campaigns, I have attempted to identify anyone privy to inside information about the National Restaurant Association who also has recent ties to any presidential campaign.
According to the October 2011 FEC report for ROMNEY FOR PRESIDENT INC. a gentlemen named Steven C. Anderson gave $1,000.00 on July 14, 2011. FEC search function here.
Steven C. Anderson is the same gentlemen who took over the helm as Chief Executive Officer at the National Restaurant Association (after a brief intermission) upon Herman Cain's departure in 1999. As CEO it is highly likely he would have been privy to details of litigation and threats about litigation from the immediately previous tenure of Herman Cain.

There is no "proof" but access to information about a "harassment" lawsuit would certainly be available to him.

I’m not so sure this establishes any real connection. Businessmen from all over the country have given to Romney as the “business guy” in the race Tho it is peculiar he wouldn’t have given to a former colleague, Has anyone checked Cain’s donors to see if Anderson is listed?
Back on July 14, when the contribution was made to Romney, no one could have imagined Cain would take off as he has. Most of his current supporters at the time were waiting on Sarah Palin
No, I did not research on this, but feedback comments on bottom of the blog post suggests there were some exchanges that caused some further examination. I never said this is the "source" but it is possible it is. He certainly would have had access to any available data. And he would not be restricted about talking about it due to "legal settlements".

Perry, was probably “asked” to run. Their logic is that he would be the most likely to bring the “T-Party” along. I am convinced that Rick really did not want to run for President until asked by the Republican leadership.

Cain was himself a Romney supporter. Problem here is that an overzealous Romney supporter or anybody’s supporter might try such a thing against the lead candidate, and do so quite outside the knowledge of any candidate’s campaign. Obama, however, is safely ensconced in the White House with no ties yet to a real campaign of his own like we shall see him undertake in January. This will likely never get directly linked to anyone but by innuendo and the conspiracy theorists.
Well, he endorsed him. His economics guy, the one who created the abominable 9-9-9 farce, contributed to Romney in 08. Cain has singled out Romney as one of his favorite rivals. I believe he’s said he wouldn’t mind being Romney’s VP.

In the general, I can't imagine not voting against Obama. So who knows? I might vote for Romney again if it's him on the ticket. Or maybe not.
In national elections, one vote is absolutely and completely meaningless. It's a delusion to think otherwise. On local matters, my vote counts for something. But I could skip national elections every time and nothing would be different. So I don't sweat it. I mostly just shake my head and laugh.

Yes, that is what Huck was referring to. Cain like many others could not do McCain, so he gets a pass for supporting Romney who was the one left standing besides McCain.
