Take this article and others I found to the fight to the Libs on their own turf; put the Left on the defensive at Digg and at Reddit and in Stumbleupon and Delicious
We have watermains and sewermains all over the place, too. That’s how we convey these “goods” because the lines can be capped and extended and looped.
Are all of those listed on the map still functioning? As I understand it; they are not buried very deep underground and often carry inert gas when not active.
They are designed to transport both liquids and gases - under pressure. No, not at the same time;)
When I was a kid, there was a break in a gasoline pipeline near my grandfather’s farm. My dad took me there where, along with dozens of others, people skimmed it off a pond into containers to take home. This was when gasoline was about 20 cents a gallon. I don’t remember any lasting damage to the area. If this happened today it would be a huge disaster. Back then it was an opportunity, with the men nervously joking “I hope nobody decides to light a cigarette”.
That will never happen. Just like the Alaska pipeline the only way this pipeline will be built is by electing a Republican President and Congress at the same time, then building the pipeline as fast as possible before some activist judge shuts down construction. If they think they can pull it off they'd better start pipe stockpiles now all over because they will have to move fast.
I am particular to having Natural Gas piped directly into my house. They should do the same with beer.
Abuse of the word "literally" -- 5 yard penalty from the point of the infraction.

The map is misleading as it depicts the U.S. Natural Gas Pipeline Network, 2009. The American Petroleum Institution has the oil pipeline map.
