Your point re: not ruling someone out based on one comment is well taken. But it would take alot for Cain to overcome that comment. Esp here in Texas. I do not speak for all Texans by any means. But it was not well received here.

Look, Perry he has not backed down on his positions. He hasn't made light of them.
That is another difference between Perry and Cain, Cain has no record to stand on. While people put his bio up, they do not include that he has run for office twice before.
He's a politician. He just has not had the pleasure of serving yet. Someone here said, oh he has a record, you are just not informed of his talk radio show?! LOL...now that's funny.
Well if they stay away from the fence, what's the problem? They have a choice, unlike a baby in the womb.

Well, what’s the sense in having them and going to the expense? We had them too to keep the horses in. I thought he was talking about something powerful. What’s all the hype from him? Just words? He’s just leading people on or something? We have people all over the country thinking he’s going to “electrify” the fences. I’m disappointed. Right.
So he is kinda sorta not really maybe if it will get him elected but only for some and not for all and not all the time and not really but maybe and maybe not pro life with a caveat. Okay. I get it. Man of his convictions. Isnt he?
Perry disqualified himself for me. Even if Cain does so as well, I am not moving support to Perry. Taking away a choice for those who already decided Perry was not for them is not going to help Perry. Sure, he will get some percentage of those who think he is OK. Most of the Cain supporters are more likely to move to others, in my opinion. Perry has alienated those he most needs and they are too heartless to support him now.

"My son lost his job because of this administration," she added. CNN reports that the SEC recently adopted stricter rules for investment advisers undertaking political activity.

Conservatives were willing to forgive a lot, but I truly believe he lost us at "you're heartless."

He says it is a joke two months ago, and then goes out and says it again to rabble rouse. People believe him, and then he says it is a joke again.
It's the same with the no sales tax, sales tax. No VAT, tax we won't call a VAT for a few years. Cap and Trade, no global warming.
He needs to be vetted on his stances. You want to stay on that train, then you should care too!
Cain is just trying to be everything to everyone. No political record allows that to happen. He can always say that his “kill illegals” comment was a joke, but if he voted for something that option is not possible.
Unfortunately, many have fallen for the act. Too bad.

Well he certainly didn’t lose my vote or any of my friends with the comment re the fence and we all live in Texas. Anyone with any snap at all knows that there will never be an electric fence or mine fields along the border - although in some areas it might be a great idea. You really need to lighten up and not take everything so literally.
As far as Perry on immigration, I believe his record has been greatly distorted here. The fact is, he is realistic and honest about it.
He is not telling people he will build a fence just because that is what they think is best, while he had a military report done that clearly advises otherwise.
I am all for capitalism. You want to call knowing how to attract business and how to play the game cronyism, then so be it.
Cain's success as a CEO puts him in the crony capitalism category. IMHO, it is lack of depth/record, seriousness, and consistency on the issues that is cause for greatest concern.
All I have to say on W. is thank God he was president on 9-11 instead of Obama.
At least he seems to want to offer a solution for border security I have been suggesting for years. If the illegals stop crossing the border illegally, they don’t get hurt. Simple.
I said I do not speak for all Texans. But I do know many who are upset with what he said. That includes Big Dawgs out of Austin ...Of course there will never be an electric fence. That is beside the point. Completely. And there are no areas where it or mine fields would be appropriate. And I do not need to “lighten up” when choosing for whom I will vote. Depth of character means alot to me. It does to most I know. And it was said “literally”.
