Here is why I don’t like Ron Paul. During the last pres election cycle, I had a chance to speak with him on a talk show in Iowa the day before the Caucuses. I applauded him for the defense of our Constitution but told him I had a foreign policy question. “Okay, he said.” So I asked, paraphrasing, “Congressman Paul, if North Korea was sending a shipment of nuclear tipped missiles to Iran, would you board and seize or sink that ship?” His answer was startling. He said, “No, why would we do that?” I know what Ronald Reagan would do. Paul continued that it would be none of our business. None of our business? Is he freaking kidding? That is not my commander in chief, no matter how much I would agree with him on Constitutional issues.
Interesting. But who do you think that Iran, if they ever got their hands on those missiles, would target? Israel? They got hundreds of nukes -- Iran would be a wet spot before they had time to blink if they attacked Israel. Us? Ever seen Iran on a map? They are surrounded by US-friendly or US occupied countries, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, etc... The Iranians aren't stupid, they know if they pulled ANYTHING -- even something fairly minor -- we could and would invade them in a heartbeat. All that Ahmadinejad false bravado is because Iran is surrounded and they are really scared to death of us.
So personally, I think that there are a lot more things that are more likely to kill us than an Iranian nuke -- like starvation if we don't get this economy rolling!
