People do tend to resurrect their mythology when they are most challenged and scared.
And to be frank, although I am a Christian, I also worry about the fervor of many Evangelical Christians on the ME hitting head on with Shi'ite Mahdi thinking. This 1-2 punch makes Armageddon more, not less, likely.
I've known Israelis for most of my life. One of my old friends was a Colonel in the Israeli Army during the 6 Day War.
Israelis are an admirably tough breed of people and extremely resourceful when left to their own devices. Israelis are fully capable of taking care of themselves and their country -- if we would only get the heck out of the way. Problem is that Washington wants to use Israel as a pawn on the ME chessboard and run the ME by remote control. That's not good for Israel -- or us. It just increases the Muslim hatred for Jews, and vice/versa.
It just increases the Muslim hatred for Jews? How much more room for hate is there than them already wanting all Jews dead and their country gone? I am not someone who has studied the end of the world prophecies. But I do recognize what is inevitable if Iran possesses a nuclear weapon that they can deliver on a missile. Ron Paul does not recognize that problem. Apparently, Barack Hussein Obama does not recognize it. I want neither of them as the commander in chief.
