This one is the clenched fist with the 2 fingers up, in what is commonly thought of as a peace sign. It is seemingly modeled after the international socialists clenched fist.
The socialist signs are all over the OWS movement. I was wondering if this particular one had a specific group that was using it. I don’t have a copy of None Dare call it conspiracy, but it would seem that it might be defined there.
Thx

The "V" sign was popularized by Winston Churchill during World War II, but I doubt the leftists who used the sign starting with the "Ban the Bomb" movement in the 1950s were fond of the British wartime leader.
As with the clenched fist sign, there may have been earlier manifestations of its use, but I am not aware of any.

In particular, watch for the red/black flags and symbols of the anarcho-syndicalists, but some of the others are downright fascinating.
