Texas colleges are subsidized by MY property taxes!
I live in Texas and I just received my yearly tax bill. It includes taxes for the city, the county, the local school district,
the Community College, the county Hospital district, the river authority and the flood fund. There are no taxes for the
University of Texas, or A&M, or Baylor or Texas Tech or any of the other hundreds of colleges in Texas. They are funded with sales taxes
private endowments and numerous other ways. Google one of the state colleges and look at the funding.
No their not.
The local school district in which you live is supported by your property taxes. Public Schools. K-12
