Are you quite sure that Herman Cain is a part-time pastor at this exact congregation? Or perhaps I misunderstood — are you suggesting something different?

I’m not saying anything. Hermain Cain is doing the talking......

snip
Herman Cain:
I’m a Baptist preacher. A lot of people don’t know that. My parents joined Antioch Baptist Church North in Atlanta in the mid 40s when they moved to Atlanta when I was 2 years old. That was the church I grew up in. That was the church I joined at 10 years of age. I’ve been in the church all my life. When I moved around in my corporate career, I always stayed involved in the church.

So my faith is a big part of who I am and at my church now, which is the same one I grew up in, I’m one of the Associate Ministers there because I was called to the ministry. Sometimes when people are called to the ministry they think that God wants them to give up something else. But God has done some magnificent things with my life, especially what he has done in terms of my health.

RE: Perry is a career politician who knows how to get along a ‘Heartfelt’ compassionate conservative who can raise money and brings Texas into the fold for Mitt.

judging from what Anita Perry had to say Thursday about how the GOP establishment is treating her husband, I doubt Perry will be a very enthusiastic fundraiser for Romney.

Cain’s lack of organization is a problem, his popularity notwithstanding.

Thanks for the info.

If that’s the religious experience that informs Mr. Cain’s thinking... well, let’s just say we’ve been down this “black liberation theology” road before and leave it at that.

Needs more scrutiny.

My entire point is Cain has not been vetted like most of the others who have been in the political arena for many years. Until Cain is giving a complete going over from top to bottom we really don’t know the man.

Your point is valid.

“Actually Cain is doing exactly that — “electric fence, let’s kill them”, then next day: “I was only kidding”.”

When another poster put up a thread bashing Perry because an idiot pastor *introduced* him, I defended Perry. I acknowledge the TRUTH that Perry didn’t know this man. I wouldn’t let a lie stand.

I defended Perry in this one instance because I cannot stand dishonesty. I make sure that we go after candidates on the ISSUES. I do not participate in CHEAP, low blows.

I have done this because *I* am an honest person.

But you know what?

I’m not doing it any more.

Let the lies stand. I will not defend the truth when it comes to your candidate because YOU PROMOTE LIES AGAINST MINE.

Perry supporters have NO HONOR. You people will twist and bend anything (just like a LIBERAL) to support your candidate.

If we end up with Romney as our nominee IT IS YOUR FAULT. You’ll trash the one true conservative that has a chance to take down Romney.

Perry is down and he’s going to stay down.

Get over it. Your RINO has LOST.

Yup. A vote for Perry is a vote for Romney.

You’re obviously a fan of shills, hacks, and trolls.

It must be a family thing.

How is it a “circular argument” to point out the fact that it’s difficult to evaluate a candidate for public office when we can’t look at what he’s done before in public office and simply have to take his campaign promises at face value. It’s important to realize the difference between a “proposed agenda” and an actual record. It’s one thing to state an agenda. It’s quite another to actually carry it out.

Herman Cain’s lack of experience is a serious problem for a number of reasons, and it is not a problem he can fix in time for the 2012 election. There’s no Catch-22 for him here. Herman Cain made his own decision to run with no record, and fairness certainly doesn’t require giving him the benefit of the doubt because of it.

Are you that ignorant or that mendacious?

Years worth of radio broadcast tapes make him a complete open book - To those that can read one anyway.

Who did the GOP Establishment push into the race after it seem Tea Party heroine Bachmann was going to upset Romney’s ride to the nomination?

Who does the GOP Establishment see as their back up card if Romney fails?

Who has long standing intimate ties with the Liberal wing of the GOP Establishment?

The answer is Rick Perry.

Your FR homepage indicates you're a fan of Rush Limbaugh - "Chief Wagawaga El Rushbo of the El Conservo Tribe." So you disagree with him about Rick Perry then?

May 18, 2011: "Let me throw a name at you out there, and this person's toying with getting in the race. And there are some Republicans who are trying to convince this person to get in the race, and there is a lot of excitement attached to the possibility that this person will get in the race. ... Texas Governor Rick Perry. Texas Governor Rick Perry is lurking out there, and he has the potential to light this up.

If Rick Perry decides to get in this, folks, then you can wipe away all the conventional wisdom that's out there heretofore and to date, 'cause it's a brand-new day, and it starts all over again. And the Republican elites do not like Rick Perry. The Republican elites do not like Rick Perry ...

Rick Perry stands in opposition to inside the Beltway Washington elites, I don't care what party they are. And he's got great hair."

May 27, 2011: ”I would like for Rick Perry to get in to it. Or anybody like him that would fire it up. The more conservatives in this race, the more full-throated, unapologetic, peddle-to-the-metal conservatives in this race, the greater the opportunity one of them is going to be elected in.”

Fred was just there to peel some votes away from Huckabee in the South. And all the pre-hype took up folks time also.

Fred has always been a McCainiac and was helping him out IMO.

I SLEPT THROUGH THE ELECTION? OMG — when was it? I really need to get a new alarm clock.

... oh wait. It’ still not for another year, and the real primaries and caucuses haven’t even started yet! You joker!

By the way — for *reals* — you should sneak a look at the October 2007 polls vs. how it actually shook out in 2008.

Really stupid statement!

.
How about his radio program?

We know far more about him than all the others together.

Sad that he hasn’t raped the country like Romney and Perry.

Those are the only two choices? OK, I’ll take “ignorant” — which, of course, is the whole point.

We’re ignorant of Herman, and he therefore needs vetting before we even think about electing him president!

Yeah, he "strolled" right to the top of the polls. I'll take Cain who can actually speak coherently, over Perry the mumbling bumbling "debater". I've heard Perry speak many times, but his debate performances eliminated any chance of him ever becoming POTUS.

If you’re ignorant of Cain, it has to be deliberate ignorance, because politically and socially he is a wide open book.

Years of consistent commentary on hir radio program make him the very best known candidate.
