Who the heck can’t remember 1776 (I know the revolutionary war didn’t start till a few years later, but sheesh.)

At least say “late 1700’s”.....

Quick - someone ask him how many states there are.

That question will surely separate the true Presidential material from the mere poseurs.

Should’ve asked Perry how many states are in the United States. RE the revolution question, maybe a bit of insecurity left over from past performance and feeling intimidated by such a lame question.

the reason that we fought the revolution in the 16th century was to get away from that kind of onerous crown if you will

Undoubtedly Rick was making a much deeper point, that the revolution in thought sparked by Luther's nailing his 95 theses on the door in Wittenberg in the 16th century would ultimately spell the end for slavish adherence to Kings.

Of greater concern to me is his view that you can "mate up" two male creatures to produce a third. Shirley they don't teach that at A&M. Was that a sly pander to the gay vote?

I saw the video of the mistake. He looked very tired or maybe under the weather. He is not my favorite candidate but jeez folks can’t we cut him a little slack. None of us perform at our best when we’re ill or weary.

When Joe Biden says, “Dumb is a three letter word,” Rick nods in agreement. But, I betcha Rick knows the dates of all the Mexican holidays and historic events.

Could be just another slip of the tongue, could be early onset Alzheimer’s, or anything in between.
But if I were his wife I’d have him checked out pronto. He seems a bit too sluggish to me, for what he’s fixing to do.

Actually, he missed it by one syllable. That’s the difference between being asked a question, thinking about it, and writing down the wrong answer, and saying the wrong word in the middle of a speech.

And I still haven’t seen a video of the mistake, so we are just taking someone’s word that this is what Perry actually said, and that it wasn’t just that the reporter didn’t understand his texas drawl.
