Lexington and Concord were fought on April 19, 1775, if memory serves.

Who the heck cant remember 1776?E. D. Hirsch, an educator whose mission is to make young Americans culturally literate, has argued that there are certain dates that all culturally literate Americans simply have to know: 1066, 1492, 1776, and 1939-1945.
- 1066--The Sunset Crater volcano near Flagstaff, Ariz. erupted.
- 1492--Granada, the last Arab kingdom in Spain, fell to Christian forces.
- 1776--A great year for books. Adam Smith's An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations (London: Strahan, 1776) and the first volume of Edward Gibbon's History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire (London: Strahan, 1776) were published.
- 1939-1945--The USC Trojans won four Rose Bowl games and went 6-1-3 against the UCLA Bruins.
