At this point, there are only two people I would seriously consider voting for: Cain and Perry. I've heard and seen too much of Romney's slick crap and none of the others has impressed me. Don't get me started on the wingnuts like Huntsman and Paul. What irks me is that Florida moving up their primary screws up the whole process for EVERYBODY--now we have to have candidates do their campaigning in the next six weeks, because between Thanksgiving and X-Mas, nobody's going to give a rat's rip.

And before you get on the Iowa/NH why are they first bandwagon, accept it for what it is, and then try to get the various state legislatures to agree on a more equitable system so that all states get to be the hot spot every so often. Living in NH, I'd agree we get more than our fair share of exposure being the first primary state and that by the time April rolls around, the nomination has been more or less decided. I've thrown some ideas around, but the biggest block to that is getting the states to go along with it--good luck getting that to ever happen.

I enjoyed reading your post about having ideas for a system that would allow different states, across time, to have a first shot at things. However, my thinking process wasn’t that far that I was blaming the Iowa / NH first-time slots. Just know I wasn’t complaining about the secondary changes that had, by the process structure, changed when I asked why everything had to be changed. I was, perhaps simplistically, thinking that it all worked before the way it was, so why did it have to change. I understood the others ie Iowa / NH had to move up too with Florida moving up, the way the rules are currently written. This article explained that really well, and I was glad to have learned that. My question is why Florida felt emboldened to change things around as they when that change affected the entire country.

While I wasn’t thinking of the possible changes you have been considering and how the country might be able to adapt practices that do give all the states their time in the sun, it sounds like you were thinking about it and have some very good thoughts about some things to do.

You should follow up on your thoughts and ideas with some things to submit to whoever one would submit those kinds of things too. (my nativity on that much information showing there, lol) You might be able to make a real difference perhaps! Best wishes if you do!
