According to a new survey by the Democratic-affiliated Public Policy Polling, tomorrow's gubernatorial special election in West Virginia is too close to call. Democrat and Acting Governor Earl Ray Tomblin currently leads Republican Businessman Bill Maloney by just one point (47% - 46%), down from a 6 point lead a month ago and a whopping 33 point lead early in the year.

What about the Senate race?
I will laugh my @$$ off tomorrow if this state gets a GOP Gov. That will send the WH into more of a meltdown than they are now.
That's a shame.
What's wrong with the rest of it that caused you to be so ashamed of it?
Manchin’s still very popular and he’s also been putting on a show of criticizing Obama so he could hold on in 2012. Depends on how massive the Republican wave is next year.
Yup! But of course the White House will publicly blame the candidate and the candidate’s campaign while swearing it’s not a referendum on Obama.
It would not be all that strange if Malony wins. We’ve had Republican governors. People forget that this is a conservative state. The only reason Dems keep a strangle hold on the votes is because of unions and the good ole boy network in Charleston that keeps control of every dime coming into the state. We can’t get redistricting done in a fair way because of them. The whole state system is loaded to favor the dems and we can’t seem to break through the fraud and control. Every so often a candidate will come out as a Republican who is so good they overwhelm the system. Malony may have done that. He has had one of the best campaigns I’ve seen in a long time. He must have spent most of his fortune on direct mailings, which is the best way to reach all the voters in WV. It breaks through the reality TV stupor. Go Malony. He’s a smart business man.
We come here for the latest news, so give it to us.

One hand washes the other you know.
Thanks for the in-state perspective! It raises my hopes for an upset even more.
Yes. Rutgers will beat them.
The WV state legislature is totally controlled by the Dems who are dominant: House—64 Dems/34 Reps/2 Vacancies (9, 13); Senate—28 Dems/6 Reps.
In the Toss Up range now. It’s close to the election and PPP wants to appear credible.
I'm from PA and I hunt down in WV so I think I'll go down tomorrow and vote, I'll register as a demonRAT so it will be OK.
I'll use our hunting camp address and just chew tobacco and spit a lot, hell maybe they'll let me vote twice.
OK you WV folks, just kidding, don't take offense.
