Never mind that she made a commitment to announce by September, so as not to string people along. She never made a commitment to announce by the end of September. You'd know that if you were keeping up, or were (GASP!) a Palin supporter.
She has never personally announced a firm time frame for officially declaring her candidacy. What she has done, is agree with a couple of talking heads on a generalized time frame to make her intentions known.
Maybe that's an official promise in your book, but I'm sure that most people watching, realize that she's given the best answers she could, without revealing anything of her actual plans.
As a Palin supporter, I hope she enters soon, but I'm not holding her to any concrete timetable, nor are any other Palin supporters I talk to. It's only her detractors and the chattering class in the MSM that are doing that.

I saw her say it in two places, walking around at the Iowa straw poll and on Greta as well. She said September was a “drop dead date”, and it wasn't fair to string people along who want to support her, but want to support someone else if she doesn't run. You may not consider that a commitment, I do. I like Sarah and was ready to support her a year ago, but I doubted she would run. I still doubt it, and she should have made up her mind by now. I don't buy this “brilliant strategy” crap, although if the other candidates keep self-destructing she may get lucky. If she does deign to run.
