Human beings are very talented at rationalizing almost anything.
Thought ya’ll might enjoy this...
I seem to recall one Barack Hussein Obama resigning (aka “Quitting”) his senate seat...
I’m sorry, but you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.
Utter nonsense.
wow.
The Freepers who give Palin grief as a “quitter” apparently missed the entire spectacle of crazy Alaskan leftists filing constant suits against her for ridiculous “offenses.” If she HADN’T dropped out of that fray the cost to the state of these nuisance lawsuits would have been in the millions. Good on her for denying those loons their little sport.
Just what I’ve tried to say in the past, but this article does it much better.
If she hadn’t quit, the same people would be whining that she was too stubborn and was hurting her state by staying Governor...
It’s generally understood here at FR why Palin resigned. The general populace, however, hasn’t a clue.
And, if she gets the nomination, you can count on a barrage of TV ads hitting her on this issue.
Good luck convincing the sheeple that her resignation was anything other than a cowardly act by someone wanting to cash in on a TV deal, because THAT’S the way it will be spun.

(((((PING)))))
This is just Perry troll bait. WTF cares? Only them. Obama must go and Palin can get it done.
I resigned from a company that was telling me to remove data points from a set being sent to a customer. I refused and resigned. Looking back I could have escalated further than I did, but I felt that mere fact they were putting me in that situation told me more about the company than I would learn in any other situation. I’ve had people tell me quitting is never the answer and they can never look me straight in the face when I explain the situation above.
I understand where Palin was coming from and she likely felt it was the best thing she could do for the state and that she was leaving it in able hands .... of course it didn’t hurt that she had a fall back that was more lucrative. But it doesn’t mean she was wrong.
In the end none of us can read her mind and know why she really did it, but I tend to err on the side of trust - the destruction of that trust with my past employer is why I left.
I ‘get’ that whoever writes under the pen name “Mark America” is with C4P and has a 100% pro-Palin perspective. However, this item would be more persuasive if he brought up that this was done not solely for the sake of the State of Alaska, but also for the sake of the Palin Family whose resources had been depleted to the tune of $500K or so as we were told at the time.
No pol should have to put his/her family in that kind of financial jeopardy, and people understand that. But to claim that the resignation was all for the benefit of the people of and the State of Alaska detracts from the argument. There was more to it and shouldn’t be glossed over.
In this case, as I’ve read here, the law that was so costly to Gov. Palin was her own doing. It was she who championed the law. It contained no provision to reimburse cleared elected officials, or to make those filing false charges liable, for the costs of prosecuting/defending. Amazingly, now that she’s out of office, the law has not been modified so far as I’ve read.
Gov Palin is totally unselfish
If leftist loons can FOIA a Governer out of her seat, we’ve got huge problems in this country. The instigators should have been held up as an example, day after day, making it known just how much Alaskan taxpayer money was being wasted in complying with these frivilous requests and charges.
Sarah should not have quit. She should have objectified her enemy, froze them, brought focus on them and heaped public ridicule upon them. Every time a taxpayer dollar was being used to meet some lunatic’s demands, their name and the names of all of their backers should have been in the next speech, or newspaper column.
I believe that Sarah Palin’s resignation was done as selfless act, to spare her constituents from the expense of these constant attcks. However, I think her judgement was flawed, and she ultimately opened the door for similar leftist tactics to be used in the future.
