Reporting from Washington and Sacramento— A suspected embezzlement scheme that has ensnared hundreds of campaign accounts of Democrats has sent candidates scrambling for new cash as they prepare for an election season that could reshape California's political landscape.
Just when they need to start hiring staff and commissioning polls, many candidates have no idea how much might have been taken from them or how much they have left, and they cannot find out: As many as 400 political accounts have been frozen by the banks holding the funds since the Sept. 2 arrest of treasurer Kinde Durkee.

The funds were co-mingled between unaffiliated third parties. Until each of the third parties forfeit claims or lawyer up and reach agreement in mediation or a courtroom on a division of remaining assets, all assets are frozen by the presiding mediator or judge in this particular situation.
Which leads to my question... do political organizations and campaign committees carry E&O insurance for staffers?

this on top of the news that the Cali Dems also lost money on Solyndra. the good news just keeps on coming...!! turns out O will be here in LA to scramble traffic here yet again. all those who give money to this group deserve what they get, which clearly isn’t good money management (!) and seems to be redistribution of $ to those not necessarily intended to receive, ha ha!
