Only 4 things can be highlighted as topic designations for a thread post. I found it a hard choice because business/economy, education, government, health/medicine, history, military, politics, religion, science and society all should be included.
It is being reported by environmentalists -- believers in a socialist green religion -- that their judgment and knowledge is being resisted by unscientific, religious deniers hell-bent on blocking their path. So the deniers need to be identified for the good of humankind. This is dangerous. This morning I posted an article that explores with alarm, how Global Warming Consensus is denied by conservatives that their resistance is an ever growing problem stemming from the religious right in America. The American Allergy to Global Warming: Why?
I posted it because Gov. Rick Perry was mentioned at the top of the article. And there is good reason why. Socialists around the world know that Rick Perry has been fighting them on the legal front, the education front, and the environmental front for years. Due to his past, he knows why and where they are determined to lead us. Why would Rick Perry feel so strongly about these issues and their connection to states' rights and free market capitalism? Why does the Left recognize the danger of a Rick Perry controlling the Bully Pulpit of the White House, his veto, his appointments?
Rick Perry grew up on a farm (I know he keeps telling us this but I think it is done for a reason). His mother sewed his clothes. They worked and went to church. Rick Perry was a Boy Scout, earning Eagle Scout rank (so has his son). Rick Perry was a member of the Future Farmers of America. He went to Texas A&M and was a member of the Corps. Rick Perry joined the Air Force, serving 5 years. He flew C-130s around the world before returning to West Texas and the family farm. He courted his future wife, taught Sunday school and worked the land with his father. And in time he went into state politics.
Rick Perry is a self made man. He was called one of the Pit-bulls in the Texas legislature because he was a Democrat member who sat in the lower pit of the House Appropriations Committee and bitterly fought spending increases. He is naturally a conservative. In 1989 he joined the Republican Party that had begun taking root in Texas as the Democratic Party ideology began moving left. Perry ran for the Agriculture Commission seat against leftist Jim Hightower and won. In 1998 Rick Perry ran for Lt. Gov. and won (he was the first Republican Lt. Gov. elected since Reconstruction).
When George W. Bush became president in 2000, Rick Perry became the governor of Texas. He has been reelected twice (the last time beating out Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, a candidate supported by the Bush family and Karl Rove in a primary challenge). When Gov. Rick Perry was elected in 2010 for his 3rd term, he was joined by a Republican super majority in the Texas legislature. Major legislation was passed and signed by Gov. Perry, including (after a 6 year struggle) Photo Voter ID and tighter controls over how money is spent. Perry's history of being attacked by the mainstream media is well known and his election was won without one endorsement by a mainstream media outlet.
Rick Perry has served twice as Chairman of the Republican Governors Association. The country has seen a rise in the number of conservative governors and state legislatures in recent elections. Rick Perry broke fundraising records for the RGA. And now Rick Perry is a candidate in the GOP Primary for President of the United States. He wants to lower taxes, return states' rights, repeal Obama care, and remove the regulations and laws that are strangling our economy, and get people back to work.
Currently, the Left is battling Gov. Rick Perrys stand on Big Education (unions) and EPA Energy and Environment dictates. Trial lawyers have made it known they plan to block any more power going to Rick Perry, as he has won so many victories against them as the Gov. of Texas. The Left knows Rick Perry has his own religious beliefs and does not adhere to their pseudo green religion. They know he understands the land, that he was brought up in a religious home and has worked for everything he has. The Left knows he attended a school that didnt teach him to hate his country but rather instilled love of country. They know he served in the military and still encourages boys to become Boy Scouts. The Left can not put the lie to the fact that Texas' economy is running rings around Obama's disastrous economic policies. The Left knows that when Rick Perry shows compassion has a heart it isnt because he wants to make you dependent on him but rather to set you free.
If the Left can demonize Gov. Perry, a man who believes in standing with our allies, making government as inconsequential as possible in our lives and who holds firmly to his belief in American exceptionalism if they can successfully define him as a rightwing religious dunce, while simultaneously encouraging people in the GOP Primary to lambast him as someone who isnt conservative, then the Left will have won the ideological battle -- their war against capitalism will be complete and they will permanently Rule America.
I took it that they had to pay out of pocket. Maybe I misunderstood Perry on Hannity. He said they had to pay out of pocket and that no government funding was involved. Perhaps he meant if they had not been in the state for three years yet.

??? I’m not understanding.
Yes, the students of illegals pay their tuition out of pocket but they need to have been a student in Texas schools for at least three years, to get the discounted in-state tuition rate. (that’s how I understand it)
I’m saying that the students of illegals that have been in Texas schools for at least three years, have paid sales taxes among other state taxes in those years (which is prob’ly longer than 3). Children from out of state (legal or illegal) would not have paid into state taxes.
In terms of being the smoothest debater or not, if one cannot speak of conservative principles in a clear and cohesive manner, then I don’t believe that one has those conservative principles.
The clearest thing Mr. Perry said is that if I don’t support educating the children of illegal aliens at in state rates, then I have no heart.
He was crystal clear on that, and absolutely in the fog on everything else.
I’m not going to be able to support a person like this, especially when there is someone the caliber of Mr. Cain, whom I can support.
I think Reagan adopted W.F. Buckley's rule. Either way it's the one I follow too and so far I don't see anyone in the Republican field I think can beat Obama's dirty class warfare campaigning. That worries the hell out of me because this is an "all in," history-changing election.
Support or don’t support Rick Perry, and say what you want about the tactics of the left. I do not believe the left had anything to do with anything about him. He has sloppy positions and a clumsy debate manner. Whatever has happened to Perry he did to himself. “Blame” is not an approach I support.
Heh ^^
Perry has made some mistakes and that worries me. I expected a much better performance out of him.
However, I still contend that he is good at winning elections. I want Obama OUT!
He could win the Primaries and the Presidency with Latino support.
You don’t have to support amnesty to get Latino support. Some of my Mexican immigrant friends are highly disenchanted with the dims.
The numbers are REALITY. 12% African Americans who will always vote dim plus 15% (and growing) Latino plus 20+% liberals, gays, pro-choice, etc. would give the dims PERMANENT MAJORITIES. This is what Carville was crowing about in his book.
Conservatives MUST find a way to attract Latino voters or we are toast.
Border security is a good theme for winning Latino support. They also understand that we cannot have unlimited immigration since it drags down their wages. Even some of my Mexican friends say, “Build the fence. The cartels are slaughtering tens of thousands of Central Americans trying to get to the border.”
Mind you, I don’t make blanket condemnations of party switchers. There are people that switch out of legitimate conviction, such as the party having moved away from them. That’s what Reagan did. But Perry was opposite. He was supporting a Socialist for President in 1988, Al Gore, and as he harbored ambitions for higher office, he could see TX was moving away from the Democrats and he’d have to switch in order to move up (and he was also brought aboard by Karl Rove, who has become notorious for supporting liberal Republicans), and he did barely a year later. If he’d been in a state like California or even Georgia at the time, he’d have remained a Democrat. If Gore had won the Presidency in 1988, he’d have probably gone to DC to work in his administration... still as a Democrat. These are just some of the basic problems with him from the get-go before you even get to everything else.
Arrogantly assuming you know who is "electable" at this time is nonsense.
At this point in 2003 Howard Dean and Weasel Clark were the Democrat front runners.
At this point in 2007 the front runners for the GOP were Fred Thompson and Rudy Giuliani.
It is this arrogant assumption of the infallibility of their feelings that makes base GOP voters remember just how badly the GOP Establishment has screwed up everything since 2004.
is he more like Porky Pig or more like Foghorn Leghorn?
I'll leave it up to you whether Ron Paul or Bachmann gets to play the little Chicken Hawk.
And where's Palin? Right here:
Cheers!
The entire premise of this post is false. In fact, it is the left that is helping to create the Perrywinkle faux buzz this past couple of months. The left would be ecstatic to have Perrywinkle, Mittens or even Christie run against the Usurping Marxist Onada. If any of them defeat Onada it keeps the Marxist vision alive.
If a U.S. Citizen from Ohio comes to Texas, they will not pay the lower in-state tuition rate. If a criminal invader comes to Texas, they pay the lower in-state tuition rate.
Can you fathom the problem with this situation?
LOL.
Actually laughed out loud, at your post.
Wonderful. Thanks! :D
That’s funny.
But the criminal invader has paid taxes to Texas in the form of sales tax for at least three years. So that makes it OK in the minds of some.
Your headline said it all. Don't complain if folks call you out for whining about the left for what is largely self-inflicted damage to the Perry campaign.
Perhaps it would be better to refer to your friend as a “zealot.” It's sorta like an idiot, only a lot more dangerous.
BTW, everyone has to pay their own tuition, it's not a freebie paid for by Texas.
“Even the loathed and despised Dallas Morning News that hates Perry had to come to his defense against some of the lies being perpetrated against him. You are falling prey to the MSM.....”
“Wait, I’m confused.
If we here are falling prey to the MSM, but the Dallas Morning News came to Perry’s defense, and they are part of the MSM, shouldn’t that mean we should think the opposite of their Perry story??”
OUCH!!! :)
But he didn’t do well in the debate. /s
