A No Confidence Vote in Orlando SEP 24, 2011 BY WILLIAM KRISTOL
Having watched the debate Thursday night, and having heard the candidates speak and having mingled with them over the subsequent couple of days, 70 percent of the activists attending the Florida Republican gathering this weekend cast a vote of no confidence in the two GOP frontrunners.
So, with all the usual caveats about not over-interpreting straw polls, Id suggest:
1. There is resistance to both Rick Perry (15 percent) and Mitt Romney (14 percent). Perrys poor debate performance hurt himbut it doesnt seem to have redounded to Mitt Romneys benefit. Perhaps neither Perry nor Romney will end up as the nominee. After all, the two GOP frontrunners in national polls in late September 2007 were Rudy Giuliani and Fred Thompson. The Democratic frontrunners in a Gallup poll on September 24, 2003 were Wesley Clark and Howard Dean.
2. Herman Cain (37 percent) will obviously get a new, more serious look. Still, with all due respect to Cain, to some degree voting for him is voting for none of the above.

“Bills an idiot.”
He is that. Also a big government neocon.
I will.
BK, you are either a racist or a moron. Pick one. Until he shows me otherwise, I say both.
Pretty soon he’ll be rambling incoherently about strawberries.
LOL Trollhenge!
BK: “Cain means we need
Christie”
Hopefully, they won’t be much longer and once this dead brush is cleared out, we can get some real candidates in the game.
It shows that Perry has crippled himself and Romney is not the second choice in this primary. Not by a long shot.
“Elitist Republicans”, including Bill Kristol, “Establishment Republicans”, and “RINO Republicans”, combined, continue to destroy the entire GOP from within.
William Kristol, noted RINO.
Baloney.
It means Cain.
Simple and clear. CAIN!
Chris Christie will be the next Great RINO Hope.
No, that’s not a fat joke.
The RINO’s want to switch horses to Christie now. lol.
I can’t say I didn’t see that as a possibility.
Yeah...i’m patiently waiting to hear from the great conservative Fred Barnes..../s
They know their fave Romney is a loser. Sooooo...they think they can sell Christie.
The establishment days are over.
He’ll further dilute the RINO vote. It’s a good thing.
As soon as his gun control/Muslim leanings get out, even Romney would fare better...not that I want that.
No, thats not a fat joke.
Christie fat?? He’s just big boned ;)
Is that a Black Adder quote?
