Today, many Christian churches preach from the pulpit that the God of the Muslims, is the same God that the Jews, and Christians worship.

you neglect to mention the growing christianity in the far east...and the already strong christianity in south america.
when islam takes over europe...it could very well be that islam will be isolated to the middle east, north africa, europe, and indonesia...while the rest of the world is christianized. That would be a situation with islam at a disadvantage. a severe disadvantage.
now, we need to make distinction between christianity and western thought. they are not the same. we like to link the two for current events but that is a convienience not a fact. chrisitanity is literally an offshoot of middleeastern judeaism. european christianity is a mixture of paganism, christianity, and greco-roman democracy with a strong influence of english law. American style christianity adds a few more things.
