By now these debates are getting boring. We know where all these people stand on every major position, we know their ideas, their weaknesses, etc. Several of them have been around for years. How about a fresh perspective? A way to get insights and even revelations that moderators just cant dig out with their canned questions?
I suggest the next debate be THE BATTLE OF THE SPOUSES and the participants will be the candidates wives (and/or husbands if applicable).
We could ask personal things like:
Are you, as his wife, his "moral compass"?
Is he really a nice guy?
Does his mood affect his decision-making ability?
Is he ever inclined to drink too much?
Is he touchy about his ears or any other body parts?
Does he know the proper protocol for toasting the Queen of England?
As his wife, will you require 23 personal assistants at a cost to the taxpayer of $1.5 million?
Does he need to spend at least 75% of his time on a golf course?
Does he get confused about which hand goes over his heart for the Pledge of Allegience?
(for Mrs. Romney): Is Mitts hair ever not perfect?
(for Mr. Bachmann): Does Michelle ever stop smiling?
(for Mrs. Santorum): Do you and Rick plan on having more children? Will they all fit in the White House?
(for Mrs. Perry): Do you plan on having a Square Dance for the inaugural ball?
(for Mrs. Gingrich): How many hours per day does Newt need to nap?
(for Mrs. Paul): Is it true Ron read your children Ayn Rand novels instead of bedtime stories when they were little?
Or we could skip this Oprah crap which is destroying our country and just spend each debate on one question each, like “What do you intend to do about border security?”
I couldn’t care less about their personal lives.
Well, forgive me! It’s a joke, ya know? One of those things people take a moment for to make life lighter. Your username suits your dour personality.
BTW I have never watched Oprah in my life.
Sorry I take politics seriously on a political site.
BTW I have never watched Oprah in my life.
Who cares? I didn't say YOU were the one with the problem.
Forget Newt’s current spouse. I’d rather hear what his two ex-wives have to say about the man.
This piece is about as trivial as using astrology to predict the candidates’ temperament. My neighbors four dogs could have written something more shovel-ready than this piece.
Sure it’s trivial. It was late on Friday night, all day long we had various pieces on this or that candidate, the race, the debates, etc, ad nauseum.
I thought I’d toss out a short and silly idea for fun. That’s all. I did not realize that was considered an offense on FR. Or perhaps the only thing offensive is your lack of manners.
I consider that you owe me an apology. Somehow I don’t expect to get it.
As for my terrible writing, I will accept your suggestion and refrain from contributing pieces to FR. It’s really a waste of time since I happen to be successful as a published authoress, columnist and poetess!

It is actually quite good. Because of that article; and looking back at what you did, I can appreciate what you were trying to accomplish.
Again, sorry--from that sour, pickle-puss, Jon Rick.
