I am in no position to forgive Gingrich. He did nothing to me, I don’t have his ear, so my forgiveness would be pointless.
He requires God’s forgiveness, and perhaps that of his former wives.
I can say, though, that many of David’s subjects did continue to follow him after the Bathsheba incident. Perhaps he was able to keep it hidden from them, but somehow I doubt he controlled their ability to count days and months.
Someone wrote recently that Gingrich is like Churchill was to England; the smartest, most capable man in the room but disliked by everyone. England turned to him in crisis, but fired him as soon as the crisis was over.
That might be what we have to do with Gingrich, but I doubt he’d survive the media attack the democrats would lay on him for deserting his seriously ill wives.
There’s enough around here that think Newt slept with their wives.
It is so distressing that Newt is an option for us and so many people have disqualified him from the race. Why? The man has had a few missteps but good Lord, the man is head and shoulders above the front-runners in intellect and I would argue he is a much stronger candidate that would whip Obama’s butt. I’m sorry, but Perry is raw, flaky and questionable. Romney is polished but a total wimp. If Newt isn’t at the very least our VP candidate we have only ourselves to blame.
