Man, Rick Perry is freaking out the New York Times. Gail Collins is all:
You think of Rick Perry, you think of Texas. And more Texas. Perry the cowboy coyote-killer, the lord of the Texas job-creation machine, the g-dropping glad-hander with a “howdy” for every stranger in the room. He barely exists in the national mind outside of the Texas connection. And Maureen Dowd is all over the place talking about Perry with references to an obvious and old Hollywood movie.
Perry only knows politics and has no vision. Perry won the 2006 race with only 40% of votes and would have lost to Chris Bell if Kinky Friedman did not split the vote. He wanted to use eminent domain for building toll roads and turn control over for 50 years to a Spanish owned company. We don’t need another President who sells out to Foreign Entities.
Yes. Somebody from up north, like a Senator from Illinois, would surely be better. /s
You do know that Friedman came in 4th, with “grandma” getting 18%. She took the blue blood vote and actually won some counties. And with a republican, a former republican, and a libertarian, the democrat didnt even win Harris county, which should have been easy considering the vote split. But all in all, I would say 39% in a 4 way race is a landslide. And 39% in a 4 way race where 2 of the opponents were trying to take away your libertarian and old guard republican vote is even better.
As to the TTC, that company is already maintaining toll roads in Indiana and Illinois, and they are just fine. Is there a Texas company with the wherewithal to manage 4,000 miles of toll road? But seeing how “conservatives” chickened out of the Dubai Ports Deal because of “terrorism,” it doesnt surprise me.
Your loss :>)
You forget to mention that nominal Republican comptroller Carole Keeton McClellan Rylander Strayhorn ran as an independent and took the moderate vote. Without her in he probably would have gotten well over 50%; she got 18% of the vote in that election.
Biggest disappointment of my life - I was too young to vote for Goldwater in ‘64.
How was the Illinois Speaker on immigration? Or the Ohio one? Or the Georgia one? Or the Mississippi Senate Leader? Or the Tennessee Senate Leader?
But ohhh, Its those pesky Texas Presidents’ from Connecticut fault.
I’ve only been to Texas a few times on business, but I think I have more in common with Texans than with the people of my home state - 0bamastan.
While we’re on Texas...
God’s smiling on Texas again.
Something wet is coming out of the sky.
I’m gonna sleep good again tonight.
Let me help you out, when you go too far over the top you just look desperate. It's hard to paint an Eagle Scout or an Air Force Captain as a sell out con man. It makes the accuser look nuts. It's best to just promote your candidates qualities, like her awesomeness, maybe show a pic of her changing from high heels into running shoes or a pic with the title "Simply Sarah!"
“Ive only been to Texas a few times on business, but I think I have more in common with Texans than with the people of my home state - 0bamastan.”
Ditto that. I like Obamastan, or may be 0-stan. ; )
I know exactly how you feel. :(
I got to vote for him in my high school mock election, and he won!
Here here! A picture of seven Texans, every single one of which would make a better President than former democrat and current Atzlan shill Rick Perry.
Sounds good to me.
Don’t need anymore “Hawaiian” presidents ever the **** again.
This ain’t rocket surgery folks. The Dem playbook goes something like this:
Perry is a good ‘ol boy governor from Texas.
Bush was a good ‘ol boy governor from Texas.
The majority of the electorate blames Bush rather than Obama for the economy.
Therefore Perry = Bush= Re-election for Obama.
That is wonderful news. I hope you get a good slow soak!
I prefer a “coyote killer” in the White House as opposed to the “Job Killer”
