married and tainted to being too deferential to the Mexicans.

This issue is not the same in Texas as it is in the rest of the country. There were Tejanos at the Alamo and at San Jacinto. FACT. The issue is not race, but loyalty. There are Many Good Freepers who are Hispanic, but never mention crap like La Raza. Those in Texas illegally that want to contribute are not the problem, the ones that fly the Mexico Flag and collect our financial support are another issue. This problem extends to some other groups.

Texas is not where you were born, but a State of Mind, Heart and Attitude.

I like Texas and all but....

I think the rest of the nation has had just about enough Texas when it comes to leading this nation.

I will pass.

Send more brisket though.

Landslide Lyndon. Ummm Ummm Ummm that brings back memories from when I was a young man.

J.C. Davis (Assistant Attorney General of Texas) came to my grandfather’s home every time he returned to town to see his father. I heard him rail about the illegal, dirty and underhanded things that Lyndon did. Even stealing the election for the Senate from Coke Stevenson with the help of George Pharr. (the Duke of Duvall)

I could tell you a lot more about that mess.

Rick is not Lyndon Johnson.

I grew up 15 miles from him. His family and my family have both been in this county for over 110 years. Rick has made some bone headed calls, but Rick is a Texan....

Obama just thinks that the Chicago Crowd are tough. He is in for an education.

Actually, I would say this is true about the entire immigration issue everywhere - not just Texas - but get flamed for trying to point this out right here on FR sometimes.

Illegals come in two flavors: those that want to work and those that want to soak us - and they should be treated totally differently IMO.

Yeah, I guess so:

1. Being of a number more than two or three but not many

Really, Perry may be all that and a bag of mesquite flavored nachos to other erstaz conservative Texans—but if he keeps sticking to his illegal alien butt kissing he ain't going to make it past us South Carolinians.

Law to the letter for good or better Gov or you is H—I—S—T—O—R—Y.

I was thinking that, too. Perhaps Perry isn't Bush III but rather he's LBJ II.

Speeders come in two flavors: those who are late for work and those who are just out joy riding. Should they be treated differently?

Laws should be applied equally to everyone.

I live in Alabama and was born in Florida (Air Force family) but I’ve always wanted to be a Texan. We were stationed in San Antonio for awhile and I fell in love with Texas. However I met and married an Alabama boy so here I am. My parents both lie in Texas soil. Does that qualify me?

My point is simply this: They should be treated differently in that they cause us different problems as a society - so the societal emphasis should be different from a practical matter. And those that commit crime, take tax payer benefits and hold pro Mexican rallies are a much more serious problem than others.

I never said either flavor should get off scott free. But actually, in your analogy, speeders who are joy riding are actually statistically more dangerous than speeders who are purpose driven.

I am speaking in terms of practicality, not morality, in this particular instance.
