I want to challenge other people who have been blessed, and have a lot of good things going on, are financially set; step up, let’s do something to encourage people in a tougher situation. We got a lot of good charities out there hurting right now. If people step up we can make a lot of difference in America.

Certainly an excellent attitude.
I, for one, though, would choose better 'charities' than the Public School system. My preference would be to go Dr. Kevorkian on the Government Schools (brain-wash centers).
But, be that as it may, we all have the right to choose our charities.

The thing the Left will never acknowledge is this guy voluntarily gave up his salary. The coercive power of government didn’t take his money from him.

And he is making the choice where the money is to go based on his knowledge of the needs and preferences of what to fund; not the bureaucratic black box of government mandates determining who fits the appropriate profile to be ‘deserving’ of government largesse.
