I want to challenge other people who have been blessed, and have a lot of good things going on, are financially set; step up, let’s do something to encourage people in a tougher situation. We got a lot of good charities out there hurting right now. If people step up we can make a lot of difference in America.

Certainly an excellent attitude.
I, for one, though, would choose better 'charities' than the Public School system. My preference would be to go Dr. Kevorkian on the Government Schools (brain-wash centers).
But, be that as it may, we all have the right to choose our charities.

True, but in this case the donor happens to run that school system.
