Oh Yes... I finally saw it. Then a time or two after that. It took many bridge watches on a CG cutter, and countless disappointments, but finally when conditions were right... Shazzam... The most brilliant loud emerald green you can imagine. It only lasts for seconds, but it’s worth the wait. :-)
Here is one I took last month.
I’m looking forward to the Obama sunset. It will be beautiful. OK not beautiful but much appreciated.
Got me, I was going, nice, nice, nice, oh $h!t.

We enjoy the best sunsets in the world day in and day out.
Some pretty pictures right there. Some are even inspirational! Good work.
I’ve seen it twice. Once from Mt. Pinos just north of LA (CA) and once on a jet plane, heading west (into the sunset) so it lasted longer than “just a flash”. (Had I been on an SST instead of a jet, the green flash might have lasted ten seconds or a minute for all I know).
Over the period of a few seconds, a piece of the sun breaks off (from an atmospheric inversion layer) and turns from sunset reddish, to orange to yellow to yellow-green and finally brilliant emerald green, and then is gone.
bttt
Thank you.
I’m just a point a shoot camera type, but I enjoy it.
We have some really pretty sunrises/sunsets around here.
