There's an old joke about a guy who walks down the street asking every woman he sees if she'll sleep with him. He's getting slapped left and right. Another guy asks him why he's inviting and taking such abuse. He answers, "Because although for every ten times I ask, I get slapped nine times, one time in ten I get laid. That's not too bad odds..."
So maybe the Duke frat bro's were just playing the odds.... :)

I never understood the popularity or glamour of fraternities or sororities. I guess I went to college to learn and get a degree. I didn’t go to pay extra money to live in a house with “sisters” that I hated. I also didn’t go to get sloshed out of my mind. Frat boys have had a “reputation” for being hard drinkers and womanizers since I was a young adult (and probably a lot longer than that). Stupid is...

If they had invited Rosie O'Donnell, Ellen Degeneres and Hillary Clinton types.......would that have been OK? Remember, this was an invite to a party so go with the ones that won't make you throw up before you start drinking.

Just yesterday I passed a Halloween store, and all the ‘costumes’ displayed in the windows were of the slutty variety. All of them.

During my undergrad days (Jimmy Carter years), lots of the hockey jocks were at Sigma Nu, "the Zoo".
They may have lost their chapter at the school for various infractions after I graduated, but I really didn't pay all that much attention to the Greek system.

This is neither here nor there but children’s Halloween costumes have become “slutty” as well. There are some toddler and young child costumes of pimps. I’m not even going to get into some of the little girl costumes. It would curl your hair.

That is exactly right - - I am Charlotte Simmons - Thomas Wolfe nailed it. It is a worthwhile read for parents of college age offspring - especially daughters!!
