Today, one 911 mom, who lost her son, said to me of our 911 Freedom Rally, "I am looking forward to the rally. It is a place we can be free to really remember the who, why, when and where of 9-11. The morning ceremony is devoid of any meaning."
The NY Post is reporting that many 911 family members have not been invited to the official ceremonies of 911. This is just monstrous. First it was clergy, then 911 first responders who were excluded from the official ceremonies -- now it's the victims' families.
Mayor Gloomberg not only lost his heart, but he lost his marbles.
All 911 family members, first responders and clergy are welcome at the AFDI/SIOA 911 Freedom Rally at Ground Zero on September 11th. The "official" ceremonies are anything but that. They do not represent the reality of the war or the will of the American people. Members of various clergy will make the invocation of the AFDI/SIOA 911 Freedom Rally at West Broadway and Park Place at Ground Zero at 3:00 pm on September 11th. Speaking will be 911 family members, including Rosaleen Tallon, sister of hero firefighter and reservist in the United States Marine Corps, Sean Tallon, 9/11 attacks; Sally Regenhard, mother of hero firefighter Christian Regenhard, killed in the 911 attacks (Regenhard is an American activist who has become one of the leading voices for the families of the victims of the September); Nelly Brazinsky, who lost her only son, Alec; U. S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton; German MP René Stadtkewitz, leader of Germanys Freedom Party (livestreaming to Germany), Dr. Arieh Eldad, former candidate for Prime Minister of Israel, Member of the Knesset;

If the victim’s families aren’t allowed to attend... the 9/11 first responders aren’t allowed to attend... the clergy isn’t allowed to attend... then it is all just a theatrical show. It is an orchestrated event to redefine what truly happened. This is an absolute travesty and unbelievably cold/cruel to the families who lost their loved ones. IMHO.
It’s a “day of service”. Service to whom is another issue.
Bloomberg is a SICK man if he lets this crap go on.
On the one hand, it is awful to exclude the 9-11 families and for Bloomberg and others to bow down to Islam.
On the other hand, I am over the “9-11 families” being the only victims here. Our entire country was attacked, and our entire country has been effected - not just NYC or specific families. I lost a father on 9-11, but not due to the attacks. We have all suffered financial loss and the loss of liberty and the loss of dignity on airplanes and so many losses due to that day — ALL OF US.
Maybe it sounds crass, but I am over the special victim status .
Personally, I say prayers that day for the victims, their families and for the 9/11 first responders who lost their lives and the ones alive suffering from disease/serious conditions. I refuse to go out and clean up a park or whatever. That is meaningless to me. I also educate my two youngest (11 and 5) why that day is a day for prayer and remembering. The significance of the event and what impact it made on Our Country and lives. That is my service.
Yes. The White House is micro managing this cr*p. It stinks and everyone can see it- er... smell it.
If someone held a grand-scale public memorial for a dead family member, but didn’t invite you, would you be upset? I sure as heck would.
“I am over the 9-11 families being the only victims here..”
I guess it is how you look at it. Personally, I look at the families attending an event as a way of keeping their loved ones present. When I look at their faces and the photos they hold, I see the people we lost. They become more than just a number.. they become real. I can remember 9-11 but many of our younger kids don’t (they were either very little or not yet born). This event changed life and their Country for them, too. They need to understand why...
The whole “day of service” thing is an attempt to get us to forget what happened so we lose our resolve to uphold freedom. As Obama’s agenda to destroy this country and everything it stands for becomes more clear, so does the attempt to write off the memory of 9-11, so that more and more people are seeing reality for the first time, IMHO.
If they put up a mosque or Islamic anything in the area of the attack, the area right next to the mosque - preferably downwind - should be bought and turned into a swine farm. If they want a symbol of America’s “tolerance”, that combination would just about do it. They can have their victory mosque but can only get to it by walking through the stench of swine manure.
Mayor Bloomberg is NOT FIT to lead!
Oops. Should have been up-wind.
You are right - I understand their being upset, and I would be too.
Let me clarify: My point was to the notion that we tend to lose our perspective as a nation when we focus on the families. That does not mean that co opting their loss for another’s agenda is acceptable. It clearly is not.
On 9-11, America’s economic power and freedom and military were attacked symbolically. The particular people who were attacked were not the point of the attack. All of us who believe in, support and benefit from our economy, our freedom and our military were victims.
I think that perspective gets lost somehow in a way that the attack on Pearl Harbor does not.
If I were a New Yorker, I wouldn’t even show up for the crazy Bloomberg and Obama krap doodle ceremony that apparently honors NOBODY but Bloomie and Oblame-o. What would even be the purpose of it?
Don’t even show up until the 3:00 ceremony where everybody participates!
the ceremony is only for the proper non-patriotic leftist who can appropriately appriciate the sacrafice that the moslem world made in taking out those hideous icons ofcapitalism.(sarc, of course)
Homeland Security public service announcements show terrorists to be white men and upper-class well dressed white women.
Here's the truth: Of all 126 people indicted for terrorism in the last two years - everyone of them was Muslim.
There was NOT ONE Tea Party member.
There's wasn't one middle class, middle aged white man.
There wasn't one Christian.
EVERY person indicted for terrorism in the United State in the last two years was Muslim.
