911 Family Members Excluded from Official Tenth Anniversary 911 Ceremonies
Atlas Shrugs ^ | 9/4/11 | Pamela Geller

Posted on 09/04/2011 9:43:16 AM PDT by Nachum

Today, one 911 mom, who lost her son, said to me of our 911 Freedom Rally, "I am looking forward to the rally. It is a place we can be free to really remember the who, why, when and where of 9-11. The morning ceremony is devoid of any meaning."

The NY Post is reporting that many 911 family members have not been invited to the official ceremonies of 911. This is just monstrous. First it was clergy, then 911 first responders who were excluded from the official ceremonies -- now it's the victims' families.

Mayor Gloomberg not only lost his heart, but he lost his marbles.

All 911 family members, first responders and clergy are welcome at the AFDI/SIOA 911 Freedom Rally at Ground Zero on September 11th. The "official" ceremonies are anything but that. They do not represent the reality of the war or the will of the American people. Members of various clergy will make the invocation of the AFDI/SIOA 911 Freedom Rally at West Broadway and Park Place at Ground Zero at 3:00 pm on September 11th. Speaking will be 911 family members, including Rosaleen Tallon, sister of hero firefighter and reservist in the United States Marine Corps, Sean Tallon, 9/11 attacks; Sally Regenhard, mother of hero firefighter Christian Regenhard, killed in the 911 attacks (Regenhard is an American activist who has become one of the leading voices for the families of the victims of the September); Nelly Brazinsky, who lost her only son, Alec; U. S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton; German MP René Stadtkewitz, leader of Germany’s Freedom Party (livestreaming to Germany), Dr. Arieh Eldad, former candidate for Prime Minister of Israel, Member of the Knesset;

You are absolutely correct. It is a “revised history”. It excludes God and it diminishes the value of those lost and injured. It doesn’t mention WHO attacked us and WHY... I personally think they will try to do away with any sort of Memorial event in the near future. They’ll try to come up with something “clever” like “these events only prevent the healing of a Nation” or some sort of twisted liberal talk. Liberals want this gone and done with... it may hurt the little feelings of Muslims.

We need to see more of these pictures and other that chronical the true events of that day. Not what we are going to get out of “leaders”.

It brings tears to my eyes every time I see those people jumping to their death. May God hold and comfort them throughout all eternity.

“... it brings tears to my eyes every time I see those people jumping..”

Me, too. I think to myself what was going on in their minds. How absolutely terrified they must have been. I also look at it like this: they were just normal, everyday people. People whose only “crime” was to be American. They were just going about their everyday lives when they were attacked. “They” could have been any one of US... that is why I am so infuriated by this so called Memorial ceremony.

Next Sunday, a memorial featuring part of a girder from the World Trade center is being dedicated at one of the fire stations in my county - part of a major metropolitan city in the south.

All first responders, firefighters, police, paramedics, etc., in the county are being honored.

I'm responsible for the video that plays behind the choir that sings during the service. I've been working on it for weeks.

You can bet that the video features 9/11 first responders, family, and clergy.

To all of the living 9/11 first responders, family members of victims, and clergy members, I apologize for New York politics on behalf of all Americans.

You’ve said it so eloquently.

On 9/11, the teensy little NJ town I live in is having a candle light memorial (4 of our town members died on that day). I’m so proud that I can attend this one - and anyone who wants to join us is welcome.

I’ve been pointing out from Day 1 that Bloomberg would be a disaster for New York City.

Let’s be reasonable — if all the first responders and next-of-kin were invited, there’d be no room for all the Muzzies and jihadists. I’m sure gun-grabber RINO Bloomberg will look the other way when they fire their AKs in the air.

My suggestion is that an alternative memorial service be held at yankee stadium or Madison Square Garden, or whatever venue might be available. Let the politicians have their campaign event to themselves.

Why not just hold a memorial in Central Park and keep it short and simple, but dignified and ban all politicians?

Your town sounds wonderful. It is an honor to attend, isn’t it? Even though we may not have personally “known” the victims, by remembering them in an honorable way.. they each become a bit of our own. We stand to honor them and remember that day in Our Nation. If I live to be 120, there are things that won’t ever leave my mind about that day. I remember watching the people jumping, I remember watching the fireman show up (only to later lose them all). I even remember (strangely) what housecoat I was wearing and a small coffee stain on the collar. There are moments of that day that seem seared into my mind.

The whole thing is sick and perverse.

The micromanagement, excluding families, forbidding religious, blaming Americans for thinking America was attacked that day, down playing Al Queda and what took place.

Add in unfinished buildings 10 years later, mammoth unemployment, an economy stuck in the mud and you have to ask, "Weren't these terrorists more successful than they could've dreamed?"

It leaves me seething when I think of it.

I will likely skip Obama's empty theatrics at Ground Zero and elsewhere, preferring to remember solemnly in a more private manner. Of course I'll be thinking of freepers BCM and BKO among others lost that day.

Dear Edmond:

The clarification was perfect and your analysis is most appropos.

Thank you for elaborating; I understand exactly why you said what you said, that by focusing on the individual, we are losing the larger message.

I would think, though, that event planners could have found a way to accomodate both. During a recent trip to the OKC memorial, the horror of that day was brought home again on a very personal level when I saw the broken, battered toys.

I have a horrible feeling this will be nothing more than political showboating.

You are right, it will be a political event and the planners could have found a way to accomodate the families - had they wanted to. Bloomberg and Obama and this crowd? They’re all about what’s in it for them and to hell with everybody else.

Everything I’m hearing about the anniversary paints Bloomberg as a narcissistic punk. Imagine that.

I am the most reasonable and loving person in the US of A, it is kind of late but we might want to push a few buttons. I know a few FReepers that know the buttons to push.

Aside from that, I have studied Byzantium and am aware what happens when you don't push those buttons.

Love and Kisses

It looks like the city screwed up...invitations sent out late. Perhaps they are in CYA mode.

If they put up a mosque or Islamic anything in the area of the attack, the area right next to the mosque - preferably downwind - should be bought and turned into a swine farm.

Or a BBQ restaurant which would have the aroma of roasting pork permeating the neighborhood.

They are in good company - Bloomberg has also excluded God.

I wish this pint sized tin horn dictator’s arrogance becomes his own undoing.

I’d love to see Bloomberg’s guest list. Bet it has plenty of Imams on it.

You know that clergy are banned as well?
Where are the lawsuits for banning freedom of speech?

There is a discussion about this right now. Coming up after commercial is one of the first responders.
