To: miss marmelstein

Your town sounds wonderful. It is an honor to attend, isn’t it? Even though we may not have personally “known” the victims, by remembering them in an honorable way.. they each become a bit of our own. We stand to honor them and remember that day in Our Nation. If I live to be 120, there are things that won’t ever leave my mind about that day. I remember watching the people jumping, I remember watching the fireman show up (only to later lose them all). I even remember (strangely) what housecoat I was wearing and a small coffee stain on the collar. There are moments of that day that seem seared into my mind.

Never let go of your outrage over 9/11 - it’s cruddy politicians like Bloomberg who have political and monetary interests in you forgetting about it and Muslim terrorism. I watched the sky turn black on that day and smelled the burning building - I won’t forget it either. Your anger is justified and correct. Amen, sister!
