SARAH PALIN WILL RUN FOR PRESIDENT
National Spotlight ^ | 8/31/11 | Derek Petrella

Posted on 08/31/2011 7:16:57 AM PDT by NationalSpotlight

On September 3rd, Sarah Palin will be at a Tea Party rally in Iowa. There is plenty of speculation that she will announce her candidacy on that day. A Tea Party ad featuring Sarah Palin has been hitting the airwaves over the past week. After the rally in Iowa, reports have confirmed that Sarah Palin will fly to New Hampshire for another Tea Party rally. Last year, I told all of my friends and everyone I know that Sarah Palin will run for President in 2012. Now, I really believe it is going to happen. As Karl Rove stated on Fox News, she does not need to follow the campaign rule book at all. Sarah Palin is one of those people who can attract excitement and support immediately. This will have a major impact on the Republican presidential field and Sarah Palin will be a heavyweight player in the GOP race. With the dramatic entrance of Sarah Palin, the race is going to be thrilling to watch.

Hahaha...c’mon, free marketplace of ideas and all that. How is it different from a vanity piece?

So they drive a little traffic. I doubt many people will bookmark or return to the site unless they see another link on FR. I mean, after all, does anybody follow the Daily Otis now?

I suspect most people, myself included, pretty quickly realize it’s just a vanity piece.

Still, I guess we all have our pet peeves. Far be it for me to judge yours...

Tea Party Express spokesman Levi Russell told the New Hampshire Union Leader, “She'll just be giving a brief hello to the crowd.”

She's traveling from Iowa to New Hampshire for a "brief hello"..? Anyone else buying THAT one?

Agreed. I’ve pretty much settled on Perry at this point. Palin is a big distractor who unfortunately carries a lot of negative baggage with her—a great deal of it completely undeserved.

I’ve also believed presidential elections are times for fresh faces, and Palin has had her face all over the media for several years running.

I’d kind of like to hear it from Sarah Palin herself. It will be a glorious day for sure and an energized America...but speculating about it only leaves an unenthused America which could hurt the other republicans. It’s like blowing up an empty ballon just to watch the fizzle.

Palin had no input to that decision, and specifically told the organizers it was their deal and they could bring in whoever else they liked.

Rick Perry announced on Saturday. So it doesn’t really matter.

Why settle for second best?

But I still don't think Sept 3rd is the day. Reagan didn't announce until Nov. 19th.

How is Derek more of an authority on this question than any number of FR posters who have been predicting the same thing for days, and weeks?

(Just curious.)

Doesn't matter.

Appearing at the same place as O'Donnell is a bad move.

Are you implying that Palin invited O’Donnell?

She didn’t - and in point of fact O’Donnell is NOT appearing at the Iowa Tea Party event.

So, how exactly does this make anyone other than the person mouthing inaccuracies look stupid?

Bachmann’s already faded. We’ve 5 months to go before the first votes are cast. We’ll be down to 2 viable candidates by SC at the latest anyway, and I’m not in the least comfortable with limiting the field to the crony capitalist or Romney this far in advance.

All she will do is help Romney by pulling some Perry and Bachmann supporters.

I never said anything like that.

I said it's stupid to appear in the same place as O'Donnell.

I’m very confident that she is NOT running, but I will gladly eat crow and support her if she does.
My sentiments exactly.

My prediction: she will endorse Rick Perry. I've been saying that for weeks.

I'm fully prepared to be proven wrong and if I am, so be it.

But it's what I believe will happen.

Well it was really too early to tell when I was telling everyone that she will run. It was just a guess when I was saying it; now its for real. There are signs pointing to a Palin candidacy as indicated in the article.

Yes, Palin has her baggage to bear, mostly invented or hyper magnified by the MSM, the Dems and the top dogs of the GOP.

They have just begun to X ray, Cat-scan, MRI and dissect Perry. He will look just like swiss cheese when they get through with him too.

Presidential elections are different today then back when Reagan was running. The candidates that are in the race are way ahead of the game in fundraising and campaign structure. If you do not declare your candidacy in September, then you will be far behind and will not have a chance to win the nomination. Its never good to be far behind in campaigns.

“I’ve also believed presidential elections are times for fresh faces, and Palin has had her face all over the media for several years running.”

Yeah, that’s why Reagan didn’t win the second time he ran for President. Oh, wait....

Palin was helping out the TP Labor Day event. You need a headliner to generate interest in any event. Palin is certainly that. I don't see how filling in for a drop out in a speaking roster equals a POTUS run.

Romney cancelled his scheduled appearance Tuesday, opting instead to join the Tea Party Express national tour Sunday evening before Labor Day. The move made room in his schedule to attend a forum in South Carolina Monday at the invitation of Sen. Jim DeMint – -an invitation he initially declined.
