The same people who say I shouldn't impose my morality on them, are imposing immorality on me and my children to the point that I literally have a hard time even leaving my home anymore to do something as simple as visit the park. And this is freedom?
I am a Catholic stay-at-home mother of seven, and I live in the state of Massachusetts where "gay marriage" has been legal for seven years and it's just one aspect of the larger secular agenda. Because we have so many little children, it takes a phenomenal effort to go anywhere. We have only filled our truck with gasoline twice this entire summer vacation. We go to Mass and we go two miles up the road to a small outdoor swimming pool. That's pretty much it.
At the pool this summer there were homosexual couples with children and, while I was polite as my own young daughters doted on the baby with two "mommies", I also held my breath in anticipation of awkward questions - questions I'm not ready to answer. My young daughters are all under the age of eight and they are not old enough to understand why a baby would have two women calling themselves "mommies".
When there were two men relaxing at the side of the pool unnaturally close to each other, effeminately rubbing elbows and exchanging doe-eyes, I was again anxiously watching my children hoping they wouldn't ask questions. They don't see Daddy do that with anyone but Mommy. We haven't been back to the pool for a couple of weeks, except once but it rained. The truth is, now I don't really want to go back.
So what am I harping about?
Today we decided to go to the park. We live near a nice park that is safe, clean and quiet. Two of my daughters were in the sandbox, one on the slide, the other on the swings, and as I lifted the baby out of his stroller I looked up to see four women laughing at a baby boy as he was swinging in one of those bucket baby swings. That seems harmless enough, but I'm so sensitized to the strangeness in my community that I've developed this ever-present jumpiness whenever I'm in public. Sure enough, two of the women, so happy to see a baby boy laughing, embraced and remained standing there rubbing each other's back in a way that was clearly not just friendly affection.
This is my community. I find myself unable to even leave the house anymore without worrying about what in tarnation we are going to encounter. We are responsible citizens. We live by the rules, we pay our taxes, we take care of our things. I'm supposed to be able to influence what goes on in my community, and as a voter I do exercise that right. But I'm outnumbered. I can't even go to normal places without having to sit silently and tolerate immorality. We all know what would happen if I asked two men or two women to stop displaying, right in front of me and my children, that they live in sodomy.
So now I go on a rant.
Our taxes are being used to fund contraception, abortion and IVF already. That offends me in ways that are inexpressible. I read last December in the Wall Street Journal how two men near us are raising two assembled daughters after announcing to the world how they killed two other siblings in surrogate mothers in India. Let me guess? I shouldn't offend them though, right? And what's next at the park? A needle exchange drop-box for heroin users? No joke. These things are not isolated, it is all the same issue at a fundamental level. We're being pushed to accept immorality and it's not just on TV and in Washington D.C. It's right in front of us too.
We fund a lot of illegal immigrants here (just ask the President about his auntie) and helping people who really need help is not something I'd ever oppose. But it's still haunting me that just this week I learned of an illegal immigrant who killed a young man innocently out for a ride on his motorcycle. The illegal immigrant, who didn't have a license, was so drunk he didn't notice when he hit a motorcyclist and then dragged the 23 year old college graduate a quarter of a mile while people were yelling at him to stop. When he finally did stop, the young man was still alive until the drunk driver put the car in reverse and backed up over him before driving away. He's charged with vehicular homicide and "reckless conduct creating a risk to a child." He had a six year old in the car with him.
Do you think knowing this happened about seven miles from my home makes me afraid to leave the house? You bet it does. But that just adds to everything else I'm being asked to tolerate. Seriously, is this freedom?
[ With this subject, one persons affectionate gesture is anothers perverted act.
We need morality police... ]
No, we don’t need a state sponsored morality police. What we do need is to be able to comment and verbally chastise such acts in public as private citizens without fear of being charged with a “hate crime” for expressing our 1st amendment rights.
It is hard to believe what you describe could happen in the United States and it is imperative that you protect your family and protect your community.
If you are to protect your family you may be able to do a few things that will eradicate these evil and Godless people and lifestyle from your community.
First, pretend to befriend them and once you have their names call Child Protective Services and inform them that their children are being abused, perhaps even sexually.
Take pictures of these sodomites and post the pictures on the Internet and all around your community with a description of what these Sodomites are doing in your park.
When you see them fondeling each other in your park, you should call the police and file a complaint.
Finally, if you have their names, you can file suit against them and your city for violating your First Amendment Rights to freely practice your religion.
Be strong. If nothing else works, you should stand up in your park and at your loudest and strongest voice demand that the sodomites leave your park.
Move
I Agree
I don’t understand how a mother of seven has time to write such a long article. LOL
There was an article posted a while ago about some park in NYC that this group volunteered to clean up every weekend. One weekend they actually counted the condoms strewn everywhere, it was in the thousands. In one week. Of course the volunteer group was very non-judgmental and I’m not sure if the word “gay” was even mentioned in the article. And it isn’t a case of them being forced in the bushes because NYC is so hard on the gays, it’s just something they enjoy doing, having lots of sex with anonymous men.
Freegards
“Does she want the police to arrest gay couples who appear in public?”
If the presence of gay couples expressing themselves in her park offends her, it is in fact a violation of her First Amendment Right to practice her religion and the gays should be arrested.
Fags in bushes, almost an oxymoron, almost...
“They should all be destroyed like the demon-scum they are.”
Uh.....okaaaay?
I don’t like their openly flaunting that stuff especially in front of kids either.
But seriously?
All they need to do is control that childish need for PDA and no one will notice them nor care.
Problem is that with the ubiquitousness of the media and the state-sanctioned school curricula, move is a temporary solution at best. This garbage is coming to a suburb or small town near you...and sooner than you'd like to think.
Don't believe it? Remember what state Kathleen Sebelius was from...not exactly the urban core, was it?
It is time to stop retreating. Every time you think the problem is solved by pulling your kids out of public school and then ignoring the problem...you help perpetuate the issue. Every time you think the problem is solved by abandoning the urban for the countryside...you help perpetuate the problem. Why? Because by retreating from the cancer rather than fighting it, you just give it room to metastasize.
And note: I am not saying that you must enroll your kids in public school or move into the barrio. I am saying that you cannot ignore the problem just because you've done so. That is not a solution. It is just, at best, postponement.
They can’t because they are demon-possessed. Burning in hell for eternity is too good for their kind.
I want them to keep their consenting corruption in the privacy of their own home.If normal Americans can be penalized for refusing to provide services to those whose lifestyle choice they find repulsive —then WHY NOT penalize the reprobates for their repulsive and anti-social acts?
Yep, they are forcing it down your childrens throats at school and on TV. No “choice” will be given to the kids in this.
The problem is- at least in my observation - homosexuals sometimes are far more gratuitous in their public displays than most hetero “couples”. It is almost as if they are after the intentional shock-value.
But more importantly - and if one pays attention to the original writer’s situation - why should families have to worry about explaining such deviant and immoral “relationships” that their children seen at public parks?
There is absolutely NOTHING right about homosexuality, nor the public display of it (and no - I’m not a big fan of gratuitous displays of affection in such family-oriented public places either).
Hate Crime Legislation doesn’t trump the Constitution!
Unlike Canada and the UK. Freedom of speech is enshrined in our constitution. No mere federal law can trump that. You right to lawfully assemble in any public place and tell people what you think of them shall not be infringed.
normally i would suggest moving, as you’d take your tax dollars, and tax dollars of your children when they are of age, with you. libs/progressives depend on tax dollars to survive.
of course, not having enough tax revenue on the local level just means they’ll ask the state & then the fed... which will be more then happy to hand them more money... money they borrow from china...
so it’s come to a point where you cannot make something stop by voting with your feet... as they will get the money from you, even if you live 2000 miles away (ie: florida)
the only other option would be... to speak up. to explain why their behavior is not acceptable to you and your family... and not be willing to compromise any further. they will call you names, such is life.
after the name calling is when we will get to the solution stage
This is ultimately what we get when we “don’t care what two people do behind closed doors.”
Re-criminalize sodomy.
doesn't matter.
rhode island will still receive your money via federal taxes.
The writer has the First Amendment right not only to practice her religion by not having to view the undesirables expressing their perversion in her park but she also has the responsibility to publicly express her objections regarding the sodomites in her park and make sure they are banished from her park.
The author is worried about her children seeing two men rubbing elbows or two women rubbing each other on the back? Seriously? Odds are her children don’t even realize the sexual innuendos of these gestures. I don’t know about her children but when I was that age I paid attention to what I was doing at the park. What adults were doing was of no interest to me. If her children had seen two men or two women kissing or (Heaven help us) actually having sex in the park, that would have led to some awkward questions. The PDA she mentioned is pretty mild compared to what she could have seen.
I also have to wonder if the author would be as upset if her children witnessed hetero PDA in the park, which is also gross.
