Where in the hell does he live? Some 3rd world country? Water lines are at least 12” above the waste line and at least a foot or more away. Water lines are under pressure. It would only mix ONLY if they turned the water off or there was a break in the main line before your house and they had to shut it down.
Nadin is an idiot. I bet he or she is disappointed that Irene can’t handle the land mass messing with her outflow bands. I doubt it will be much worse than a Northeaster. Compared to Andrew, Katrina, etc. Irene is a baby. The only reason they are making such a big deal out of this dying storm is because it may effect the NE coast.

Water Mains, which are for potable water (drinking & washing stuff), and Waste Water Lines (poopy stuff pipes) DO NOT run side-by-side.
Wanna take a look at some Blueprints, Deary? I've got a couple hundred Plumbing Drawings I don't need. I could email you some.
Also check your house for obvious cracks.And Nadin, you check your skull for cracks.
If you find any.. chances are it is not structural, still have it checked by an engineer. Be ready for after shocks.And if YOU find any skull cracks, chance are your brain is leaking out and you'll die any minute. So forget a Doctor, but yeah, be ready for a SHOCK!
