During the 2008 presidential election season, many Americans were captivated by then-candidate Barack Obamas promises of hope and change. And some would argue that much of the media were taken in by the promises too. Nearly three years into the Obama presidency, is it fair to say the media were duped? On Sundays broadcast of CNNs Reliable Sources, host Howard Kurtz asked New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman just that question. According to Friedman, the jury is still out.

Of course they failed to vet Obama. Now the conservatives are failing to vet Perry.
What does he mean "restructuring of debt?" Does he know what that means? That's the term that is usually applied when an entity goes into default and works out a "restructuring of debt" with its creditors - like extending the time to pay it out, reduction of principal, forgiveness of interest, etc.
Wrong. The media did everything it could to dupe the public. Don't try to play the victim card on us.
Duped? Or Jean Paul Deparduped dude!
Cerially Gibbs KIDNAPPED them.
Did any one of them file charges? No?
Willing accomplices, not dupes!
Obviously, you read the whole article. The other posters haven’t.
Friedman is unhappy because Obama is going on vacation instead fighting for his leftist agenda. Friedman thinks that Obama didn’t go far enough, didn’t spend enough money and isn’t supporting educational research.
Well we know Baraq’s golf scores, like his academic performance, are a highly guarded secret. So we can make a logical assumption that he’s a crappy golfer.
Considering his narcissistic personality, and I’d say Baraq likes to golf with other sh!tty golfers, LOL.
the election was two and a half years ago and the jury is still out?
Remember, now, Thomas Friedman is the smartest man in the world. And at the New York Times...
Yes Sir,The desecration of this country,by these worthless people was unforgettable and I will never forgive them!
At this point in time, it is simply CLEAR that the media did not vet Obama, that Obama was unqualified for the job, and there was no reason to think that he was qualified. Seriously, even Liberals admit this guy doesn't know what he is doing. At this point in time, the only thing that can save him is luck, especially with the timing of future events and trends... luck...

You have that right!
The media vetted Obama?
Who knew?
I didn't read the article; can't stand Friedman, but...
if he said that, then the dyke is starting to crack.
Then again, 'bam's got Libya to bray about this week. Keep a bucket close by.
In the meantime how do you like my brandy-new Heavy-Duty Knee Pads by Dewalt?
I bet Monica wished she had had some like this?
Ohhhhh, I just can't wait to try them out on my Dear Leader, and Messiah!
Mmm, mmm, mmm
The jury of really smart people returned the answer even before the election, then they left and “moderates” and uninformed had their say and the knucklehead narcissist was anointed.
This needs repeating:
The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to an electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The republic can survive a Barack Obama. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president. - Author Unknown
Well, sir, I am sure you will be more than glad to do that job for all of us. Right?
Why do we eat our own??
Well, sir, I am sure you will be more than glad to do that job for all of us. Right?
I’d rather just encourage everyone slow down, open their eyes and choose the best conservative candidate. It seems that the media has caught on that Romney is a no show. So, now they are cramming Perry down our throats. The media has never pushed a conservative.
“Obama was vetted???????”
I think someone in 2008 asked Barry’s mom (uh, I mean “Grandma”) Madeline Payne a question about Barack Obama Senior, to which basically her only response was “He’s straaaange”.
