Say What?
LTC Lakin goes to Leavenworth, and this guy gets an honorable discharge?
Interesting that the military singled out LTC Lakin for persecution.
Perhaps it was because, as a LTC, he was getting a little too close to the general officer level.
That was my first thought, too. Something more to this - it’s possible he’s got a character or behavior disorder and they gave him an honorable discharge, or that he waived his right to a discharge board in exchange for one. Also possible he got a general under honorable conditions, but once again, he’d have had to waive his right to a board hearing since he’s an NCO.
Always more to it than gets out.

“LTC Lakin goes to Leavenworth, and this guy gets an honorable discharge?”
They made an example of Dr. Lakin because of his rank and professional status. An Air Force Staff Sergeant isn’t that high of a rank...just an E-5(the lowest level of NCO in the USAF). They probably thought it was easier just to discharge him rather than go through the motions of a Courts Martial. I don’t mean to belittle this sergeant, but he probably was seen as of marginal value to the USAF and they were ready to ditch him anyway.
I have the same wonderment. Could it be that the Obama military and political cabal decided minnows are not as noteworthy as bigger fish? Perhaps there is some difference in military rules that separate the cases. Sounds like Moran is willing to make his story public.
