The ugly truth hurts.
Perry's campaign mask is now off for all the world to see and let's see how fast they start back peddling now. This really leaves no doubt no matter how hard the Perristas try and spin it. Maybe Perry should just go ahead and fully embrace Open Borders now and be done with it.
Office of the Governor Rick Perry speech on Open Borders with Mexico on Wednesday, August 22, 2001.
But I gotta admit that the histrionics they are putting themselves through here are absolutely hilarious. Hang in there, the truth shall set you free. LMAO.
Hmmm, catchy.
Very well stated my friend. We don't need another Juan McCainiac.
Reagan supported and gave us amnesty.
Now, there's a heck of a scary thought. Yikes!
I think if he had a crystal ball and could have seen how it would destroy so many states that he wouldn't have done it.
I don’t know about the Texas law, but the law they tried to pass here in Md. would require the children of illegals to have spent at least two years in a local Maryland High School in order to qualify.
Which actually means that at $14,000 dollars per student we would have already spent $28,000 dollars on this kids education.Probably a lot more since most of them have been here longer that the required 2 years.
Now a question for you.
Does In-state tuition cover the cost of a college education or is in-state tuition subsidised by State Government, and those who come from out of State are paying cost plus.
I can't believe I'm reading this on FR. Are you serious?
Erasing a border, regardless of the conditions, means the U.S. doesn't exist anymore for borders are the very definition of a country.
Is your son in Afghanistan fighting to allow mexicans free access to the U.S.?
From your home page: "My family goes back before the American Revolution. We've had members of our family who've fought in every war since the Revolutionary War. I will Support and Defend . . . So help me God! "
What are you willing to "support and defend"? The idea that mexico and the U.S. will become united? Were we to erase our borders what, exactly, would our troops be defending?
The history of the world and nations are all about borders - those pesky lines that define a people. And, in the case of the United States, define and contain the ideals that made this country the greatest on earth. To erase the lines is the same as erasing the ideals because the very nature of an erased border means we then accept the ideals of the country that we joined together with.
I just can't believe I read this on FR.
This thread is interesting. SoCon posts Perry’s own words and Perry supporters go ballistic. This sort of thing is sure to happen many times in the future as Mr. Open Border’s past and record is brought to light. Perry’s a snake oil salesman, a RINO in the purest sense of the word. Conservatives need to post everything from his past we can find; it’s part of who he is and representative of what type of president he would be. Thank you for this thread SoCon!
Its called “vetting” and if we refuse to do it then we’re no better than the media which refused to look into Obama’s background.
Yes, of course it is vetting. But those who support Mr. Open Borders Perry don't want it known. They're terrified that his past will cost him the nomination. It should.
Rove was just on Gretta praising Perry for backing off his treason charge and the way h staged his entry into the race. Rove may not like Perry but he likes conservatives even less.
I look forward to the day when the real conservatives vying for the Republican nomination destroy Perry by exposing his liberal leanings nationally. Why should Mitt Romney get called on his liberalism and Perry should not?
Thanks again.
Karl Rove says he and consultant David Weeks persuaded Rick Perry to switch parties and run for state agriculture commissioner.
Texas Gov. Rick Perry draws mention in GOP consultant Karl Roves autobiography with attention focused on Perrys win for lieutenant governor in 1998 and Roves role in his pivotal earlier switch from the Democratic to Republican party while he was a third-term member of the Texas House.
Rove writes: Rick Perry had planned to retire from the legislature until his best friend, David Weeks, and I talked him into switching parties and running for the GOP nomination for agriculture commissioner.
Yours is some of the silliest comments I have ever read here. I know what happen, Perry wondered over into Mexico and one of the aliens space craft pick him up and they made a clone and the clone was the one that made the open broader statement. Is that your story.
It reminds me a bit of when this forum had a large presence of Trump boosters who were convinced The Donald was a tea party conservative and "the only man with the guts to take on Obama". If you posted Trump's OWN WORDS, vebatium ("We must have universal healthcare", etc.), they'd start foaming at the mouth and scream that it's an "Anti-trump hit piece". Apprently The Donald's OWN book was an "smear from the Trump haters" and must never be allowed to quoted on FreeRepublic.
Similar reaction to Perrybots when Rick Perry's exact statements are posted.
Of course, one difference is the Trump kool-aid drinkers never attempted to make insane statements like "Nancy Pelosi was a CONSERVATIVE Democrat back then" when someone posted Donald Trump's endorsements of liberals. But Perry fans will actually attempt to re-write history and pretend that "the Democrats were the CONSERVATIVE party" during the height of Reaganism.

Pressure must be kept on this man masquerading as a conservative. We must stand ready to call-out the lies and distortions posted here and elsewhere by the Perristas or Perrybots. So far there is big business money backing this RINO and until the word gets out beyond the borders of Texas we must not relent.
Texans are getting the message loud and clear and the tide is definitely turning in Texas. The message must not be exported nationwide. Hang tough people. America can't stand another so called compassionate conservative.
